Its seems possessed. It turns on and off on its own accord. So say you start the oven at 350 degrees. In 5 minutes it may switch to the clean cycle. If you try to switch back to bake it will then start beeping incessantly. It may or may not display "F1" on the screen. Its unpredictable. But you cannot use it without this happening wherein it starts to do something --clean or shut off -- than you are directing it to do. Does anyone know what's going on? Have you seen this behavior on past Jenn-Air models? How do I fix it? Thanks.
SOURCE: F1 shows on display and beeps constantly.
The F1 error code relates to a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). It seems that the reason for it in your case is some liquid entered the unit during its cleaning. Unplug the power cable and wait for few hours, In case it will not help, apart the ERC unit and and dry the touch pad and the clock. Good luck!

Replacing capacitor C3 on the clock board will correct the dimming problem. I will cost you about $2 for the part. Replacing the board does the same thing just with a higher price tag. Unfortunately, tt sounds like you may have a bad "new" board if this problem happened as soon as you put it in.
When I had the dim display problem with mine, the oven still heated up, chimed at temp, etc -- you just couldn't see the numbers. My wife didn't like it, so I fixed it. If your old board works like mine did even though the display is dark, you could try replacing the noted capacitor and see what happens.
I hope this helps.

An F-1 error code on your model means the element was energized when it should not have been, A shorted interconnect harness or failed power relay board.
A probe indication could be a failed meat probe jack or bad harness in a unit that has one. In a unit without a meat probe, suspect a bad board.
Both conditions would warrant bringing in a tech.
Before you do, turn off the circuit breaker fot 3 miutes and turn it back on. This will reboot the boards. If problem persists, the call a service tech.
