Power sterring makes wering noise and gose hard at low revs

Power steering makes wering noise and goes hard due to more than like been very lowe on pwer steering fluid .

1.power steering pumps normal leak fluid in the commodores and need replacing.
2.steerings always leak.
3.Also check the hose that come from the p/steer resvoir and even p/steeer cooler hoses and the metal pipe that mounted at the front of the radiator these are all very common faults

How can i check the transmission fluid in a 2006 pontiac solstice with an automatic transmission? I called the dealership and they want me to bring it in for them to do....1hr shop time at $105 an hour...

You should change automatic trans fluid every 30,000 miles and never go over
3 years, even if the milage is less
Also do the power steeering at the same time
The $105 is about right, but why would you be at a dealer for ANYTHING?

When on the freeway and my power steering "turned off", which has

With the power steering quitting immediately, it indicates a broken belt or serious lack of power steeering fluid. If it's fluid, you have a leak allowing it to escape.

The "tapping noise" sounds like it might be the belt flapping around with engine running.

Power steeering started makin a noise & noise gets louder when turning wheel. Fluid is aerated & if top of resivior removed while engine running fluid flys out. Have recently had new belts fitted...

belts were put on too tight or have gotten too loose after they were replaced. the nuts that hold the parts in place may not have been tight enough causing the parts to move , which loosens the belt. maybe the belts were stretched too tight when replaced,....... either will cause squealing...good luck

Type of power steering fluid for 2001 toyota camry

Power steering fluid - Dexron 2 or 3 automatic transmission fluid. Yes transmission fluid. And while you are at it check the fluid level in the transmission.
Since you got the hood up, check the brake fluid, wiper fluid, radiator fluid, battery fluid, oil level.
