How to replace powering steering pump a 2003 toyota rav4

start by locating the tensioner pulley to take the tension off the belt so it can be removed (see pic) Once the belt is off, simply remove the old pump and put the new one in. Use the tensioner to put the belt on. Once installed, add fluid to the correct level, then start the car and turn the wheel to either side (all the way) and again make sure the fluid level is correct.

Sounds like a sensor malfunction. If it's a recent model, it may be under warranty. Take it to the dealer.

Whining noise power steering pump 2002 Honda accord

Change the fluid and look for a leak. If you cannot find one you probably will have to replace it to get rid of the noise.

The dump box goes up, but then comes down before we can spread our load.

I'm guessing this is a power up, gravity down system (pump runs to raise the trailer, and doesn't when it's let down). Should be a check valve on the pressure side, and a solenoidal actuated return valve on the fluid dump side that lets fluid back into the tank from the hydraulic cylinder. It could be a bad check valve, or a bad seat in the return valve.

Makiing a noise maybe because of the bearing, are they expensive

The only way a power steering pump will make noise is if it is low on fluid.
Normally the reason it's low on fluid is because the high pressure hose is
leaking, that will need to be replaced.

I put a new power steering pump in my 1979 Ford F150, the pump was
sixty dollars, and the two hoses were another seventy dollars.

The guys at Napa swapped the pulley for me.

Hope this helps.

Power steering leaks but will not turn wheels, it has fluid in the pump

Fix the steering leaks before your pump throw the oil
to leak. There must be no leaks in order to have a
normal power steering. Send your e-mail for us to provide assistance to your problem. God bless you.
