Re: PLAYING IPOD THRU SYSTEM
1st check the volume on the Ipod
2nd check the plug make sure it;s not bent
then go to the stereo and fo to the setup program in the sony menu system
the simplist thing would be to go to the reset ..
But you can go to the AUX setting as there is a volume you can adjust to make your Ipod the same volume as the cd and radio, a sony feature,,,, I can provide more assistance if I get the model of stereo and adapter you are using

you need to set up your system to accept aux. this means you will need to set the 'aux on', as the default setting is 'off'. use the manual and refer to page 23 & 24. please read the instructions carefully, as they are slightly confusing.
on the radio and the adapter their is a spot for the cord that connects the two the ends have different colors on them it should be purple and black just make sure the colors are matched up if they are off it will still read all the info and say its playing but no sound will come out
According to the manual, you need to "enable" the AUX 1 or 2 thru the initial settings menu.
Press and hold the SRC until the unit turns off. Then press and hold the MULTI CONTROL (knob) until the Language appears. Turn the knob to cycle thru the options, select AUX 1 or 2 and press the knob again to select ON.
After selecting them to on, power the unit on and press the SRC to cycle thru the sources to find AUX 1 or 2.
Try putting the unit in standby via the "SRC" button FIRST..., then press the menu button and cycle through to the "AUX 1" option and activate this....then press menu button again. When the unit is next switched on, you should have an "AUX" option accessible via the "SRC" button which will cycle through all of the availale modes ....standby-tuner-cd-aux etc etc.
