Is there anyway you can check the connection to the lamps, prior to connecting to the power? Remember TVs hold a residual current so don't just going touching anything you will become the electrical ground and get blown across the room, I they are coming on just as you turn the tv off, it's got to be a circutry fault, or a lamp connection, but it seems funny tha two would go at the same time, so I wuld go for a circitury problem. To be totally honest, without being there to check it phisacally, I would hate to make a guess and cost you money. If you wan't to save the set, please pay for a professional for an hour of his time, it's a hell of a lot less than geting another set, then at least youll know what is wrong with it.

If you are using high def component cables make sure they are plugged in secure and correct. If that is not the case then It could be that the GPU is overheating. You will need to pull it apart and replace the X-clamps with machine screws and replace the silver compound on the GPU and CPU. This should solve your problem. I own an Xbox 360 repairs shop and would be more than happy to help you. Email me at email@example.com. Also you can visit my website at www.ctp360repairsandsales.com. Hope this helps.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
