It is ilegal to sell used car seats in the US. I would get rid of it and buy new to insure its safety. Go to babies r us and an associate can teach you how to use any car seat stroller combo you need. The california highway patrol can assist you in making sure the seat is safely installed in your vehicle. The car seat must be placed in the base. The base is what is installed in your vehicle if it is an infant seat. All car seats must have NO give to them after being installed. No movement at all! You may need some muscle power for this. Please,Please, buy new and ask for help. A lifeb is more important than some garage sale bargain. If the seler was ignorant enough to re-sell their seat, then there could also be something unsafe or wrong with it.
