Once you place the papers in the tray, adjust the paper holding tray knobs present on either side if the tray such that it holds the paper kept in the tray firmly on both the sides. This will ensure that the paper is fed into the printer in a straight maner even though your printer pulls the paper only in the right side.
I hope this helps in solving your problem.
These printer are made to be used offten. Did you put in new copy paper, the old paper made had curled or struck together and printers do not like that. I have a printer which "plastic paper guild" seems to be in the way and misalining the paper. I removed it.
Also I learned that not refilling the color ink made the contacts stop working, even after cleaning them. Keep trying.
I had the same exact problem. Get a piece of fine grit sand paper run it though face up a coupe of times. It works!!! My printer now is great. A friend told me this because a printer repair person told her.
there could be a paper jam or some paper still inside.
Turn off the printer.
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by
holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the
paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling
out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do
this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any
obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or
ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the
printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.
a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume
button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the
printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
something seems to be wrong with the rollers that pull the paper thru. probably one side pulls faster that the other or the other does not pull at all. I recomend you take the printer and get it repaired at the service.
How long have you owned the printer. How long have you had this problem? Is the paper old? Sometimes storage of the paper causes humidity and can cause this problem. You might want to try newer paper or clean the rollers with some alcohol on a rag/cloth. If you need any other assistance let me know. If you have a moment to accept and rate my solution I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Lee
The printer will attempt to pull in a sheet of paper out of the tray. If none is pulled, this is noted because a microswitch is not closed by the paper sheet as it goes by. This is the cause of the message. Check to be sure that the rubber roller that grips the paper initially is clean. I'll leave further comments to Benimur our local printer expert.
Problem seems to be in the design. The paper loading roller pulls on the corner of the sheet, cocking it to one side. If the paper was pulled in from the center of the sheet,it would be pulled in straight and evenly.
Hi, first of all, pull out paper tray and check any paper,or scrap jammed. When paper tray is pulled out, open paper transport unit-You have green handle on the right side of machine,in the place of right side of paper tray.Pull out paper transport and remove paper.Just close paper transport unit and paper tray, open and close top cover.
It sounds like the paper is being pulled into the printer at a crooked angle.
Check that the guides in the paper supply tray are adjusted correctly to the paper width and are tight against the stack of paper.
Alternatively one of the rubber pinch rollers that pull the paper though is slipping or worn smooth.
