Have you tried exploring "My Computer"?
Most cameras will show up as a disk drive from which you can copy the files.
Some have an option in the settings to dis/en-able this feature.

I accidentally reset my camera and all my pictures and videos have disappeared. Is there anyway I can recover these pictures and videos? Please respond to email address -...

First things first: DO NOT take any more pictures with the memory card that you want to recover pictures from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of photo recovery.

Then try this digital photo recovery software (also recover videos and music) to get them recovered. It should recover your files without problem.

How to Do? Just install the program on your computer, then connect your camera memory card and start to scan.

Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to your memory card untill you can retrieve your pictures safely!

I want to take pics of my computer and put them back on the camera

I believe you want to take the pictures "off" your computer, not pictures "of" your computer.

You may or may not be able to do this, because several camera manufacturers implement some JPEG extensions to make their pictures more easily managed by the camera.

For example, Casio, Canon and Sanyo digital cameras actively employ thumbnails to render pictures in the camera's previewer. If you edit or create a JPEG picture on the computer, chances are that it will not have the proper EXIF tags, JPEG thumbnail, and/or Maker Notes to allow the camera to "see" the JPEG as one of its own pictures.

I can't be more specific than this because I never did try with a Sanyo camera; I did try and succeed after a bit of experimentation using ExifTool and EXIFEdit, which you can download from here:

http://www.digital-photo-software-guide.com/exif-editor.html

...what you need to do is, get a picture off the camera, analyze it, then analyze a picture from the computer and set all the proper fields so that the computer picture has the same tags and values as the camera one; then try putting it back on the camera's memory card, or through the USB connection as storage device if one is available, and see whether the camera was indeed fooled.

Hope this helps, let me know...

Trouble viewing pictures transfered to the memory card

The process only works one way...you can download pictures taken on your camera to your computer but you cannot download pictures from your computer to the card and play them back on your camera.

Camera Videos wont download properly

Videos generally run in AVI mode. When putting pictures into the computer, place them in the "My videos" folder instead of the "My pictures" folder. This should solve your problem.

File errors

http://www.samsungcamera.com/popup/download.asp?prj_uid=741&prol_uid=4153
Download the english manual version pdf file and open with adobe reader go to page 84.
When you upload a file that is not taken by this camera to the removable disk, the [File Error!] message will be displayed on the LCD monitor in the play mode, and nothing is displayed in the THUMBNAIL mode.

Make sure that the memory card is formated in the camera not the memory card reader on the computer. Make sure you save your edited files in jpeg file format. Avi for movies. The manual makes it sound like the camera will not read altered files or files not taken by the camera itself. edited files are not files taken by the camera. Good luck I hope this helps.
Please rate me.

Down load video from camera

download quicktime alternative from this link and run it on your computer. Some OS's don't support the file your video is formatted in.

the manufac. recommends
QuickTime 3.0 or later is required to play back movies (Data
type: AVI/Compression method: Motion JPEG) on a
computer. QuickTime (for Windows) is included on the Canon
Digital Camera Solution Disk. On the Macintosh platform, this
program is standard with Mac OS X or later.

Photos wont open

There seems to be a corruption of file type between camera and computer The fact that the computer wont play mov. but the camera will if back loaded seems odd. JPEG files can and do go wonky if back loaded to camera after editing because essential info for the camera has been deleted. A JPEG file as produced by a camera is properly called an EXIF file because has has EXtendedINformation. Lose it and the camera wont know it. Like wise older PC's such Win 98 and older software don't know about EXIF so they chop it off So something like that is happening here. Check out Tech Support at Kodak see what they can tell you.
