Re: HOW TO GET MY PICTURES FROM THE CAMERA TO THE...
When i take photos off the camera i always plug the camera in, switch it on. after the pc has picked your camera up and installed the driver go to my computer and go to the removable drive create, there will be a folder in there, your pictures will be in that folder. just copy paste to a new folder on your desktop and you have them off your camera. if your going to be editing then youll need another program. i dont use the software provided because i never edit my photos so i find it easier this way.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
first you need to set up a folder on your hard drive, you dont need to remove the card from the camera, when you use you use you camera for downloading. you simply connect one end of the usb cord to a usb port on the computer and the other end to the camera's usb port. when you turn on the camera, computers with the latest operating systems will usually recognize it and help you make the transfer. If not you'll have to add the camera's software.
If you dont have the CD, you can still download the pictures from your computer. All you have to do is connect it using the usb cable. Right click on your windows START button and choose Explore. It will open a windows explorer containing folders and subfolders. On the left pane, under My Computer or Computer, look for the drive letter associated with your Fuji Camera. Click on it to show the files on the right side. You just have to locate for the folder containing the pictures. Then once found, select them then right click, choose copy then go to your computer's local drive, right click and choose Paste. That's it.

If the camera uses a memory card things are simple ..just insert the camera with the usb cable and the pc will see the card like a removable device into my computer folder...from its folder you can actually copy /paste the picture in the computer .. if not..you need a driver ..(probably you have one that came on a cd with the camera) just install the driver and the computer will communicate with the camera after that either will see it into the my computer folder...or use a manager for picture to import from device ...use windows picture manager ..or the manager that usually came on the driver cd ..or just any other manager ... Coose the import from device feature ...select the pictures and the folder (follow instructions) and download them ...be careful cause some of them have option to delete the picture after download and you may not want this...
If you only want to transfer your pictures from your camera to your computer, then you can do it by plugging in the USB cable from the camera to the computer and opening the drive letter associated to the camera thru windows explorer. Click on the drive and it will show you the list of folders on your camera that contains the pictures. You just need to click and drag the pictures to your computer's local drive.

There are lots of different USB cables, not a real standardized piece. Try the USB that came with the camera or buy one that has your model listed. I have many and they all are specific to their models, some charge but dont sync, while others sync but dont charge, and some just dont do anything.
