Boot up with the Windows XP installation CD Follow the screen instructions - Delete the existing Partition. Create a new Partition (1st) but do not make it the maximum partition size - enter 1/4 of the maximum size. Create another Partition (2nd) make this the same size as the 1st Create another Partition.(3rd) make this the same size as the 1st Create another Partition (4th) make this the remaining max. size. Format the Ist Partition Full NTSF (not quick format) You can now proceed to install Windows on the 1st Partition. It is really easy. If your using Windows 7, plug the IDE to USB connector to your Samsung Hard drive. Then using the provided USB cable, plug in the USB cable to the Hard drive. Then plug it into an available USB port on your other PC. Window will automatically install the needed drivers for you. Then navigate to Start/Computer/Local Disk E. Assuming there is no 2nd hard drive or partitions installed. And there will lye your Samsung Drive.
You may have to try to repartition the drive, you can do this while installing windows on the disk. If a partition table is corrupted it can make windows think there is more pr less space on a disk, Ive had tables corrupted so bad on dying drives they reported 999999999 gb on a 40 gb drive. you may want to look into getting a new hard drive as well if this is occurring.
Vista and Win7 lite versions dont have all the drivers and functions of the full version, so some issue will always keep coming up....
if u can install XP then do this
if u know how to partition ur main internal HD then install XP and Vista in different partitions...
when windows starts..choose XP to load.

hi first off what OS (operating system) is installed. Did you install that OS?
If the answer is yes ,did you format and partition your hdd or did you format and create separate partitions and left atleast 30 gb unpartition
see after teh utility named Partition Magic, It will solve these typoe of errors. Another cheap option is to try to format it with a vintage computes BIOS, HDD Formattion option, Not available in newer BIOS.
Tyr aldo Fdisk /mbr in the DOS PROMPT , booting with D.O.S. Ver. 6.0 Anyone remember this Operating system?
And the last option is to format the drive undel LINUX and thern get it back to Windows XP.
Assuming this was your only hard disk, there is nothing on the disk for the BIOS to boot from. You need to boot from the installation disk for your operating system. The OS installer will then let you create a partition and install to it.
