Question about Acer Aspire 4520-5582 Notebook
It was working fine then it just cut off ,thought it was unplugged it wasn't then when removed the battery and put it back in as you have to do sometimes and rechecked the cord it still didn't come on and won't come on. I hear a clicking noise but no power goes to the machine no light no anything. I have had for about 9 months doesn't seem that it would be the battery.
You should have 12 months guarantee when you bought the laptop so i'd take it back to the shop you purchased it from. Otherwise if it is the battery then you can buy a cheap replacement on ebay.

Hi there, I tried this and when all is said and done I now have a paper weight. This is one for the pros.First thing you need to keep track of all the screws because there are different lengths and different diameters and if you put a long one in the wrong place you can fry the motherboard. What happened when I opened the case it was like opening a book except there was a 1/4 inch connector ribbon that only let me open the case 1/2 an inch.I broke the connector and the end of the ribbon.Never did find parts that fit.You can buy the ribbon in bulk but I only needed 12 inches.( I would buy a dead laptop for parts) but for me I won't try this again.Everything is so cramped and easy to break Its really hard not to break something.A shop will charge any were from $100.00 to $150.00.By the way this is a pretty common problem with this Notebook.Do you know how to solder? Because to fix this that's what you need to do, to fix this, there is a small part on the edge of the motherboard that will need to be replaced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sdbv3tdttk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5p7YkhvcLaE&feature=related This is part 2 and is at the link above.Thank You for choosing FixYa.........Darryel
