    I have the same problem

  • Anonymous Feb 24, 2009

I'd like Chrome to aggregate my RSS Feeds and report on new items, just like Firefox with the extantion. It's not about just Bookmarking an RSS Feed page.

I love reading peoples comments. The first discusses how to bookmark a page even though the initial question was clearly how to add an RSS feed. This is because the first person always rushes to respond without reading.
The second user actually gives a solution, but should have mentioned that at that time simply Chrome does not support RSS feed reader but through URL hacking it could be accomplished their the users solution.
Then of course the third response who always add I dont know anything about what you want, but I know other browser that does. Even though the original poster already mentioned he knew how to do it in Firefox, signifying he has another browser (better than Opera) that supports it but that he simply wanted to know how to do it in Chrome specifically.
People please read questions and only respond if you know the answer.

Add this as a Chrome Bookmark all on one line. javascript:var%20b=document.body;var%20GR________bookmarklet_domain='http://www.google.com';if(b&&!document.xmlVersion){void(z=document.createElement('script'));void(z.src='http://www.google.com/reader/ui/subscribe-bookmarklet.js');void(b.appendChild(z));}else{location='http://www.google.com/reader/view/feed/'+encodeURIComponent(location.href)}

Wanting the same things you guys are talking about I created an extension as a weekend project that mimics Firefox live bookmarks functionality by syncing bookmark folders with a feed.

I dont know how to configure in chrome.. But try Opera 10.. which has a RSS reader (Feeds) inbuilt. I think it will be ok!

Just click on the Customize button(this is on the very right side of the address bar) and check "always show bookmarks bar". After that just right-click on the bookmarks bar(this is the bar below the address bar) and click on Add Page.

You can also bookmark a web page you're on, simply by clicking on the "star" next to the Home Button.

Bookmarks don't appear in the Firefox Bookmarks drop down like they used to?

They do but it depends on how you add them to your bookmarks. I personally find the fastest way to add a new bookmark and get it to where I want it to be is to drag it there.
At the beginning of each website address (in the address bar) there should be an icon. You can click and drag this icon and place it in your bookmarks bar or in your bookmarks menu.

If you want to order/sort your existing bookmarks you can also use the bookmarks menu which can be accessed through the top option upon clicking open the bookmarks tab.

I hope this helped, if not please let me know what other information you would like and I'll try and help you as best as I can.

The add-on limits the number of lines to display. To change this, select "Tools" - "Add-ons", and then click the "Options" button underneath "MultirowBookmarksToolbar".

Setup Menu

If you can't remember where you filed that one bookmark, search for it directly from the address bar. Type the name of the bookmark and look for the [STAR] icon next to the results that appear, which indicates matches from your bookmarks.
You can also see all your bookmarks in 3 places:
  • Bookmarks bar: The bar is docked under your address bar by default for easy access. If you don't see it, you can find it by opening a new tab. To toggle the display of the bar, just press Ctrl+Shift+B
  • Bookmarks menu: Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar and select Bookmarks.
  • Bookmark manager: The bookmark manager makes it easy for you to organize bookmarks. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar and go to Bookmarks > Bookmark manager.
Use bookmark folders to keep your bookmarks organized. To create a folder, right-click the bookmarks bar and select Add folder.
Hope this helps!

Web page performance is a measure of the response load time of a web page. The slower a page loads, the higher the page's visitor bounce rate will be. There are quite a few free tools available on the market designed to conduct diagnostic performance tests on web pages. These tests analyze a select page, based a set of rules that are proven to speed the load time. You can use a web-based performance analyzing tool. Or you can install tool add-ons to your Firefox web browser.

Open your computer's web browser and go to GTmetrix.com or http://www.pagespeed.googlelabs.com/ Enter the complete URL of the page you would like to measure in the provided field. Press "Enter" to get the results of your performance test. b> Using Page Speed Firefox Add-On b> Launch the Firefox web browser. Download and install the Page Speed add-on from the Google website. Download and install the Firebug add-on from the GetFireBug website. Enter the URL of the web page you would like to measure in the Firefox address bar. Click the Firebug icon located in the top right-side of the Firefox window, to open the Firebug window. Click the "Page Speed" button in the Firebug status bar. Click "Analyze Performance" to get the results of your performance test. b> Using YSlow Firefox Add-On b> Launch the Firefox web browser. Download and install the YSlow add-on from the Yahoo website.
