Make sure you have enough RAM; if you are running Vista, you need at least 1 gig minimum. Also, try to uninstall and reinstall it.

Firefox freezes

I'm assuming you're saying the Firefox App freezes. There are lots of possibilities, one of which could be an issue with the version of Flash Player installed on your Tablet. Install the latest version and try again.

Internet explorer freezes

Internet Explorer is probably one of the least stable web browsers available. You best solution would be to download and use another.
Firefox is a great option. It also allows you to keep your bookmarks and settings from Internet Explorer.
Download Firefox Free Web Browser
Chrome is also another great option.
Get fast free web browser

Either option will work on your current system. And provide much more functionality, speed, stability, options and more.

Good luck!

Mozilla browser freezes

Make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox. Also if you have recently added any new extensions, try disabling them and see if it helps to resolve the issue.

My emachines el1850g-42w keeps freezing when I'm surfing the net

Do you have the latest version of web browser (you don't say what you use) installed in the computer? If not do that first to see if that clears up the problem. Also delete cookies and web browser history.

Gmail freezes

Are you by any chance using TrendMicro Internet Security? I had that exact problem and I had to disable the TrendMicro toolbar in my browser in order to get that to stop. For some reason, Gmail does not like being monitored. This may even be true with any other major Security software like Symantec and the rest. Disable the security toolbar and it will not freeze up on you.

If you're not using a security software at all, then please advise what browser you are using. As in: IE 7, IE 8, or Firefox?

This may be caused due to the fact that not all websites are "IE8-compatible" (they were designed for earlier versions of IE). So, to browse such websites you can turn on the compatibility feature in IE8 by clicking the Compatiblity View button next to the address bar in IE8.
