Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

Recognizr my pc doesnt recogniz my philips gogear 2gb..i hav tried installin d software tro cd  provided bt in vain..they ask 4r validation n in d process fail to do so..i cant possibli validate n neithr know itz meanin..when i go to their guided sites dey charge money 4r any dwnload i make.plz help me..i can neithr transfer muzic nor videoz.i am in total soup!!!

    i plug it in and it says do not disconect like normal then it freezes and my pc does not recognize it, its not there any more in( my computer)

    i connect it on my computer but my computer dont reconize it and the page with folders dont come out when its connected.

Philips GoGear SA6045/97 connection with pc problem.


You need to get the product key for Windows from your friend. The days when you can just load an OS from any CD an unlimited number of times is over. Microsoft Genuine Validation requires that you have a Product Key, and you STILL may have to call Microsoft to validate your copy, if Microsoft registers that an OS has been loaded from a single CD too many times.

MY philips go gear 2gb music player does not getting on.


Run a Repair in Philips Device Manager - the program came on the installation CD.

If that fails the first time: Unplug the GoGear from the PC. Uninstall all Philips software in the Add/Remove Programs section of Control Panel. Restart your computer and reinstall the software. Replug the GoGear. Re-run the Repair.

i think you need that little cd dude.... go complain to the seller and try to get that cd because i dont think you can get it off the internet

STMP3500 driver for PhilipsGogear 1 gb


The driver is installed when you install the Firmware Manager software on the product CD.

The player will show as STMP3500 when it is in recovery mode (usually caused by corrupt firmware)

Install the Frimware manager.

Connect the player.

If asked for a driver let Windows search automatically.

If you get a Signed Driver message just click ok to continue.

Run Firmware Manager and follow the on-screen prompts, and all should be well.

Device driver problem


Grab the software directly from the Philips website at www.usasupport.philips.com - enter in your model #, click on software and drivers, then click on Device/Frimware Manager - this is a more recent version than that found on the installation CD.

Also, you can follow the FAQ process on the website which says "Player not recongized by PC"

If that fails, do a repair and a firmware upgrade:
1) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) - if you don't see it, then re-run the installation CD or grab the "Device/Firmware Manager" from the Philips website
2) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
3) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off (if you haven't done so already) - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

You will now be able to load the firmware upgrade by clicking on the update tab in Philips Device Manager. The firmware upgrade should resolve the issue permanently.
