My Direct TV RC64R remote won't work

I need instructions to set up this remote with a Direct TV HD DVR Model HR21-100. It is new and was working fine until I tried to enter codes for my Vizio TV.

- Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light flashes twice, then release both keys. Using the number keys, enter 9 8 1 (The green light flashes 4 times). The remote should now be restored to the original factory settings and work properly.Same Problem

- I have no problem setting up the TV with the RC64R remote. However, I cannot get the remote to work with the receiver. This was just set up today by DirecTV. I'm the kind that looks for the solution before contacting tech support. According to the code book, the code is 00001 and 00002. Neither works though. go to reciever menu and remote set up then go to rf or ir mode then switch to ir mode. if that don't work try the rf mode. sometimes the reciever and remote reset for some crazy reasons. it's happened to me twice . the first time was ready to thro away till i tried this!

Use the menu on the receiver to get to tv remote programming. Go to codes for a GOLDSTAR tv. The first codes will give you basic functions. As for using the proper Vizio codes, I don't know. I can't get my RC64r to work with the vizio codes....
