Question about Konica Minolta DiALTA Di183F Copier
Hi, we moved the copier on the weekend and now there is an error that the second side cover is open when it's not. It won't let me use it while it has this error. Any ideas??
Hi Andeawo, It sounds like while moving the copier, you may have broken or bent a door interlock switch or the door actuator that depresses that switch. On the door that showing ajar, look for a small pin (could be plastic or metal) and see if it's bent or broken. If that appears fine, slowly close the door and look for a small hole where that pin would go through and depress the interlock switch. Once located, look to see if the switch is misaligned or broken. I'm thinking that one of these 2 items is the culpret.
Been a copier tech for 12 years and have seen my share of both. Let me know what you find...

Tips for a great answer:
1. After the error message is displayed on the LCD or display, open the scanner cover, so the print head is visible.
2. Press and hold the Stop/Exit key for 5 seconds. The print head will move to the middle.
3. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
4. Use a clean lint free cloth dampend with a bit of alchohol and clean both sides of the encoder strip thoroughly. Move the print head from side to side to allow access for cleaning of the entire encoder strip.
