Question about Olympus Digital Cameras

1 Answer

When I turn on my Olympus FE-190 camera it shows the "card setup" screen with two choices: Power Off (highlighted) or Format, and gives a 3-ring alert sound. (It does this no matter what is set on the program dial: auto, guide, etc.) If I press OK to "set" with Power Off highlighted, it turns off. If I highlight format and press OK of course it warns me I'll be reformatting the XD card. When I attach the usb cable the screen on the camera shows PC highlighted but when I press OK it says "one moment" and then shuts down. The battery is freshly charged and correctly seated. While the FE is attached to my Mac with the USB cable if I select "transfer images--from camera" the application claims the camera is not connected. The camera has been religiously stored in its case and respectfully handled, has not been exposed to temperature extremes, etc. It just suddenly started misbehaving. I bought the camera December 2006 and it has worked flawlessly until now. I don't use it frequently. Thanks in advance for your help.

Card format gone, camera works fine with different card. can card be reformatted? camera wont show any screen but blue "card not formatted"

Try formatting the card in a computer card reader and then format it again in the camera. If that won't work, the card needs to be replaced.

I HAVE AN OLYMPUS MASTER (FE-190 )AND I HAVE LOST SERIAL NUMBER

I looked up the FE-190 and it says it uses XD Memory Cards not discs. Several companys make a card reader that plug into the USB connector
on computers. 2 are Targus and Lexar. You could probable find an XD card reader at Walmart or Radio Shack. The XD memory card will then show up
on your computer screen as a regular folder that contains JPG files, which are the pictures.

Write Project?!?!?

If you camera has some internal memory remove your memory card and see if the camera works. If so, check the memory card and see if the little switch is in the "lock" position.

Olympus FE-210 Camera Problem

Well, I had same issue and call the crapus support and they told me to format it. That is solution they recommend. it happen to me three times already had a camera less than 2 month. Well time to sell crapus and get me a real camera, I had Nikon and Canon almost 8 years and never had issue with memory card. I was stupid to take chance on crapus, by the way if you are not using none olympus brand memory card you are out of luck, they do not support.

Thanks
