The ipod is supplied with a USB out cable and the head unit is USB compatible. It has a USB out.Connect the ipod "out "cable to the USB of the HU and switch over to USB mode on head unit. Switch on the ipod & play . As for erahs problem ,these pioneer head units have "switchable"AUX modes. with the power "off"(the HU power off)press the multicontrol at the centre for 3/4 seconds.options like "language etc will b displayed .AUX will be one of the options .select it ":on".now u can play your ipod through your head unit .

3rd Generation iPod Touch

The third generation of iPods includes iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch and iPod Nano. Installing the latest software for each of these models involves the same process and requires the latest version of iTunes to perform. The 3rd generation iPod Touch uses the same iOS 4 operating system that the iPhone uses. You can download the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website for free. With iTunes, you can install the most up-to-date software on any 3rd generation iPod for free as well.

Download iTunes from the Apple website or check for the latest update by clicking "Help" at the top of the screen. Scroll down to "Check for Updates." Open iTunes either by clicking its icon in the Start menu or by connecting your iPod to your computer with the sync cable. This cable looks like an ordinary USB cable with a special attachment on the end that plug into your iPod. If you have lost your original cable, you will need to purchase a replacement. Any type of iPod sync cable will work, as long as it is compatible with your 3rd generation model. Wait for iTunes to update or restore your iPod automatically. Enter your iPod's name in the top field when you are prompted. Check the box next to "Automatically update songs on my iPod" if you want iTunes to sync your hard drive's playlist with your iPod every time you plug in your iPod. Select your iPod from the "Source" list on the left side of the screen if you need to update your software. This will take you to a screen with links to iPod software updates. Click on "Check for Update" to look for the most up-to-date iPod software, and click "Download" and "Install" to install the software. Do not unplug your iPod during installation. Check the box next to "Automatically copy photos to my iPod" to sync a photo folder on your hard drive with an iPod with a color screen. Choose the folder you wish to sync with your iPod from the "Synchronize photos from" menu. Click "Next" to move to the final screen. Click "Register My iPod" to send your personal information to Apple and then click "Finish" to end the installation. Your iPod will appear in the "Source" list on the left side of the screen. How to install music in ipod apple..thanks for the answer......

Hi maicalovely...
You will need to download install and run ITunes from Apple.
You can downlaod Itunes here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Once you have Itunes download and installed on your computer you will start Itunes
Once itunes has started then is ithe time to install/transfer the music that you will want on your ipod to it.
After Itunes has started then you will connect your ipod to the computer using the data cord supplied with the ipod...
Once you have the ipod hooked up to the computer and itunes open, Itunes open it will recognize the ipod and then you can highlight the songs you want to put on the ipod.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

I have a used iPod shuffle that works but iTunes does not respond

Hello,
Here are the instructions for how to setup and register your IPod
· Insert the CD that came with your iPod into your computer.
· Open My Computer, then double-click the iPod CD to start the installation.
· In the resulting dialog, choose your preferred language from the menu choices, then click OK.
· The iPod for Windows Install.

Wizard starts up. Follow the instructions to install ipod software onto your computer, connecting your iPod to your computer (if asked) as follows:
  • To connect iPod shuffle: Remove the USB cap and plug the USB connector into a high-powered USB port on your computer.
Note: High-powered USB ports are generally the ones that reside on your computer or on a powered USB hub. If you want your iPod battery to charge while connected, avoid using the USB port on your keyboard or non-powered USB hub.
· When your computer recognizes iPod, it may update software on your iPod if needed (click Update if you get a dialog that says your iPod needs to be reformatted or restored). When finished, your iPod software will be installed at the default location, C:Program FilesiPod (unless you choose another folder).
· The installer will then install iTunes if it isn't already installed on your computer, or if you have an older version installed than the one that came on your iPod CD.
· When the installation is complete, follow the instructions to restart your computer.
· Once your computer is back up, you should be greeted by the iPod Setup Assistant (if your iPod is still connected). Type a name for your iPod in the top field.
· Choose the "Automatically update songs on my iPod" checkbox if you want to sync your entire itunes music library and playlists to your iPod each time you plug it in. If you want control of what goes onto your iPod, deselect this checkbox.
· If you have an iPod with a color display, you can have iTunes automatically copy your photos to your iPod (using your settings in iTunes preferences) to fill any remaining space by choosing the "Automatically copy photos to my iPod" checkbox. Then choose a folder from the Synchronize photos from menu. If you prefer to copy photos manually, deselect this checkbox.
· Click Next to go to the next screen. If you'd like to register your iPod at this time, click Register My iPod. Click Finish to end the setup process and open iTunes (you should see your iPod hanging out in the iTunes Source pane.
Hope this helps,

Thanks,
Prince

Ipod nano 16gb won't connect with pc(itunes).

Hi,
Is your ipod nano fully charged? and your installed iTunes the latest version?
Please make sure it is charged, and the new iTunes is downloaded and installed from here please do the following steps:
Connect ipod nano to PC. Make sure iTunes is already open prior to connecting it.
If this is the first time you are connecting then your PC will automatically install Apple Mobile Device Driver.
Once installation of the driver is complete, you should see the ipod nano logo appear within iTunes very soon. and start using it.

Ipod wont install

Dear customer,              We recommend you to following the below given instructions to install ipod on your computer.
  1. Visit the Apple Web site to download the latest version of iTunesmag-glass_10x10.gif . All iPods use iTunes as part of their software package.
  2. Determine what generation iPodmag-glass_10x10.gif you have. Depending on how new the iPod you are using is, it will be a slightly different procedure for installing the software.
  3. Plug in your generation five iPod directly to your PC. The newest generations of iPods do not require additional software other than iTunes and do not come with a CD.
  4. Follow the instructions of the “Setup Assistant” provided by Windowsmag-glass_10x10.gif OS. It should pop up when you plug in your iPod using its USB cable.
  5. Use a software installation CD which is included with older iPods. Insert the CD into the disc drive and installation will begin.
Plz rate this solution.. thank you..

Ipod nano 4gb

If you install the itunes version 7.5 that you downloaded, you wont lose your music library. It is a separate file from the programs installation files. You don't need to uninstall the previous version, the new one will install on top of it.
