This sounds like a defective flat cable from the face to the main PCB (A common defect on the older in dash systems.

I own the the Pioneer DEH-P9800BT and my screen will not come on. if i press the eject button the screen will come on when its open, when i press it again to shut it the screen goes blank. I have no idea...

You will get this problem when the printed ribbon is slightly cut because of the repeated opening and folding of the screen. Eventually, the ribbon will be cut to the point that you won't get any sort of response when pushing any of the buttons on the faceplate. Order this part number and replace it. P/N:XNP7026. You can get one from Ebay that already has the connector plate soldered on, if you do not have any experience with soldering to printed circuits. Connecting it is fairly straight forward. Remove the top plate of the receiver, 4 screws securing the cd-unit, unlatch the ribbon (paying close attention to how the ribbon was routed). Reroute new printed ribbon and reassemble the unit in reverse order. Good luck, hope this helps because I was rather upset when mine failed.

Kenwood in dash reciever will not read compact disks or USB

The problem is definetely a fault in the Mp of the set as it is not able to process the data from the flash memory or the CD. If will be good to open the set and do a through check for loose connections, faulty ground or joints inthe main PCB. Remove dust and fix back, Also clean your optical lens and drive unit. Fix them back and check again . If it works you are lucky or else the main processor is faulty. Hope you try this Good day

No Display Lighting

One thing you may have to take a look at is if your dash lights are all the way up. I know with my car, if i have my dash lights all the way down, everything looks like it is turned off but still works. This might also help with night driving and knowing what speed you are going. :)

Go to your nearest car stereo installer and ask them NICELY to look at your problem, what $30?
If it's free (and sometimes it is) buy the dude lunch $10 and consider it a deal.
Good Luck

Cobra 8510 immobiliser fitted to my ford excort rs turbo

Wheelsnboots

When you say the Immobiliser is broken... Do you mean the touch key?
The 8510 touch key is prone to the internal contacts failing. If you open the case up and reconnect it then you should be able to disarm the immobiliser
You should have two touch keys so try your spare on first.
Be warned... You will need 1 working touch key to program a spare or the system will lock out and will need replacing

Hope this helps!

As for Sutty

Sounds like the system has lost power if the LED is not flashing. Have you made sure cars the battery is not flat?
