to update your ipod touch second gen to 4.1 version you must connect to your itunes account on your computer with ipod attatched sync all apps, music, videos, everything because it will delete everything and needs everything backed up. then go to your ipod on itunes and it will say update, click it it will take around half an hour to update and restore you ipod fully. This worked for my ipod touch gen 2, it kept saying when i tried to update i still have things on my ipod not synced to itunes when i have synced multiple times but it updated ok and i do not notice anything missing. this is all i know about this i hope it helps.
Hi there, Something has corrupted so you need to reinstall iTunes, restore the ipod then resync it. Download the very latest version of iTunes from the Apple site. This will update all the drivers on your PC, so install that. Once installed, before connecting you ipod, press and hold the Select and Menu buttons on the ipod until the apple logo appears, then press and hold the Select and Play/pause buttons until it displays 'ok to disconnect'. Now connect it to the pc - this puts it in disk mode. When it appears on itunes click the 'Restore' button on it's main page. That should, once it's updated, restarted (let it do this itself) and resynced, have you up and running again.
Hi, I tunes is looking for a hard drive so that it can sync. Try downloading the iPod shuffle utility restore tool. It is just for iPods and it is free. After you download it and install it in your computer, start it, plug your iPod into the computer and it should restore it to factory specs. You may have to try it multiple times - just be patient. I hope that helps.
A few things to try.....first have you tried to do a RESTORE through iTunes? Realize that all data will be wiped off of the iPod when doing that but it may resolve your issue. You may also want to try and format the drive first using Windows (using Quick Format) and then a RESTORE through iTunes. That actually works. If none of these resolve the issue, then it could be a corrupt hard drive.
If that does not work, then please consider the FREE
