I cannot log on to my computer because i have forgotten my login infomation and I am trying to restore the settings to factory default because there is a ton of stuff from everyone thats used it and its running slow and everything and just want it back to how it was when i first got it. Also i don't remember my bios password or answers to the questions either. I was recently in the hospital with a sever head trauma, but I just can't remember alot of things anymore.
No pc stated full model number and OS
ask HP , only HP can help.
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/
NO OS state, and worse no elite model number stated. wow.
if win7/8 the local PW is hackable.
if w10, it is not , they now store the pw in a place nobody can reach, a secret Virtual space. that changes constantly.
w10 is secure, so....
w10 online cloud PS resets with MS, live, email you send to them. at MS use there search , bingo.
BIOS 101: it's a brave new world.
the BIOS on Pro books and Elite books
is not hackable, well, let me explain that.
By DESIGN.
1: HP does have a secret, bios erasure file.
called the flash binary file. that can do this
but is only offered from them direct. why are you here , and not at HP.com
2: The elite books stores the pw on secret chip just for password, it's not in the BIOS actual.
It is not in the BIOS flash ROM nor is it in CMOS NVRAM storage means that coil cell PULLS
never will erase this pw, ever. nor jumpers.
This chip has and undocumented port assignments
by DESIGN to block hackers,
The chip is called the security chip!
i can even show a photo of it, in MINE.
so the answer is not you, nor some hackers
only HP can help, if at all.
if they think you sole it , no;.
in fact that is the reason for its existence.
next time stay out of bios or learn to write pw
in a hidden book page... learn to...
The one PW never to loose is BIOS.
Just learn that. x10 on newer systems.

If you are certain that there is a recovery partition with a factory default image then your user manual should include the instructions on how to access it.
HP normally uses a backup and recovery software rather than a recovery partition with a default image. This setup requires that you make restoration discs before using the computer in case something goes wrong.
Alternatively, you can keep restarting the computer and hit a different function key each time in an attempt to access a recovery program.
If you own a copy of Windows you can also just put in the disc and install Windows to your C: drive and over-write the existing installation.
As a last resort, you can order a set of recovery discs from HP's Customer Support.
With the code purple error on the screen, press the shift+f10 to open the cmd prompt.
Whe the cmd prompt opens, type the following command without the quotes "notepad C:\hp\bin\checkdmi\checkdmi.cmd", then after the REM lines add the following code without the quotes "goto cleanup". Save the file and exit notepad and restart your computer by typing the following command without the quotes, "shutdown -r -t 0".
This will cause the checkdmi function in an HP computer to bypass the tattoo check.
Hope this helps
