I have the issue.....of course it starts with the wife...but either way my router won't power on...I tried another adaptor from my modem, and I saw the lights come on....unfortunately the the router is 5v and the modem is 12v so it appears something else may have burned....but either way power did make its' way through...so apparently it maybe just the adaptor plug/wire and I'll try and see if that can be ordered.

I have had 2 linksys routers that have had power cords/adapters go "bad" after only about 8-9 months. According to Linksys, the warranty for a router is only 6 months. Pretty pathetic warranty. No wonder it isn't listed on the box. The only reason I no longer use the previous router is that it wasn't wireless, and now that we are wireless I'm purchasing a second, generic power cord so we can get back online. I hate to waste the $80 spent on the router and just jump to another brand so I'll just moan and complain about having to buy a $15 replacement and tell everyone I can. haha

Could it be that the power adaptor is burned?
Use another one.

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router. It has been working fine. The power cord it is on was unplugged briefly last night. Now when I plug it back in, all the blue lights are flashing and I can't get...

have you tryed turning off computer, router, and modem if you have one. then unplug all connections from router (phone line, ethernet net cable and power cord). Then wait 2 min then plug all back in, and turn on modem, router, then computer. We lost power yesterday for 3 hrs and I needed to actually turn in all off and unplug power cords then turn it all back on to rest and reboot them to get them working properly. Hope it helps.

I have a belkin router it was working fine but then it just looses all power no light nothing i try to push reset but nothing there either what do i do help

No lights on router means no power coming in. Check first if you have any loose ends on the power cord. Try plugging your router to another working power outlet as well. Sometimes, electronic equipments can operate much better if plugged in directly to power outlet than to a surge protector. If all of these doesn't work, then it must be a defective router now.

My router won't light up, i even reset it.

Do you see a red power light? If so, it's busted.. However, if there is really no light that's comming up, try a different outlet or check the power cord.

Regards.

My Belkin F5D8236-4 v3 Router won't turn on. We had a storm last night and the power went out but the router won't turn on. I have tried to plug it into different outlets to see if that would work...

Try resetting the router. There should be a little hole somewhere on it with a button inside that you can press with a paperclip. Try holding that button down while you unplug then plug the router in while holding it (if possible). If that doesn't work, I'd suspect the storm might've damaged the router somehow. Was it plugged into a surge protector, and/or have you noticed any other issues with anything else that was turned on at the time?

It just stopped working and the lights will not turn on so theres nothing i can do.

I hope I can help!
There are a couple of things you can do that may work, but the product may well simply have worn out and need replaced.
1. The first thing to try would be resetting the router. A. In order to do this, unplug the router from the modem (there should be a single cord set apart from all of the other ones).
B. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router
C. Next, plug the power cable back into the router
D. For the next step you will need a pin, or straightened paper clip (or something similar). You need to have the power on and then should hold down the small button in the back under the world "reset." You will need to use the pin or paper clip to do so. You need to hold it for about 30 seconds.
E. Let the router reset, give it at least 60 seconds. After this point your can rec connect any cables you previously unplugged.
At this point, if you are getting no power, you might want to try plugging into another outlet to see if that is the problem. If this does not work, it is likely that the router is simply worn out. If you purchased it in the last two years, you might be able to get a replacement. In this case, I suggest contacting linksys support.

I hope this helps!

Power went out and now nothing with my router..WGR614. Everything else is okay but router is not powering up, although I can hear a small buzz coming from the router when I plug it in

Do a hard reset while it is plug in. Unplug for 5 seconds then check if it will turn on. If this will not work try to plug it on a different power outlet or use different power adapter with same specs.

is unit in a surge protector? Any recent power surges? if you plug it in to a "good outlet" and nothing lights up at all (after a reset), either the ac adapter for the router is dead or the system board in the router is dead.

Reset router

Howdy,

Please try the reset button again. Make sure the ROUTER IS POWERED ON and hold the reset button in for 40 seconds. Then unplug the power cord for 1 minute and then reconnect & restart. If that still does not work then:

Logon to router 192.168.1.254

You will be on Home Summary tab.

Go to Diagnostics tab and click on Reset Device button on right side.

This will accomplish the same as pressing the reset button.

Simply unplugging the power cord will not reset the device.

Good Luck,

J
