I can receive e-mails, but cannot send out e-mails. I was able to until my service was changed from DSL to Uverse. AT&T says the problem is my computer. I have Outlook 2007. The out going server was mail.bellsouth.net, AT&T had me change it to smpy.att.yahoo.com. The error mssage said the the 530 application is required. I don't know where to get this application. Can you help me?
What are you using for email app.
there are 2 ways, local APP way, and the web mail way.
so try both, if both fail , your ISP email service is down
outlook is dead product , use thunderbird free from Mozilla
never use dead products is best
but if you read how to setup a client mail at AT&T,
log in there , see email (use web mail there) or not
the see how to set up clients local email apps
there are many ,
each ISP has there own rules for email. rules.
for SMTP (outgoing serve)
use name, server
name yours
Passwords
security method
and port numbers,
all this is documented at your ISP, internet serv.provider
for sure,
them tell you its your end wrong is bad.
they should have pointed to the SMTP set pages.
there.
for a fact.
it is wrong on your that is true to but they did not help you.
i boycott them for live. AT&T. (for cause) i cut there POTS cable in half.
BUT DSL is ok to use by anyone , landline, never...
