Question about Televison & Video

When we turn the zone tv on a padlock shows and we can't do anything else

My son was pushing the 'call' button on the remote to display the time. He pushed it repeatedly and then a red padlock came on the blue screen in the bottom left. Am now unable to do anything on tv. Have tried all remote buttons, plus buttons on tv, and also tried unplugging from wall and then reconnecting, but to no avail.

Have only had the tv for 1 week after purchasing off trade me.

I see you did not list the make (Zone??) and model of the set; advice is going to be slim from anyone since these features are often brand-specific. I suggest you search out the maker's website and email them for help.

Padlock, blue screen

Somehow in handling the remote control I pushed a button or combination of buttons and now have a blue screen with a lock symbol in red in the top left hand corner. I've tried turning the tv off, and unplugging it, as well as a combination of buttons on the remote, but it still is there.
What do I need to do to remove the lock?

Check batteries in remote- maybe they are weak/dead. Do the buttons on VCR itself do anything? Unplug VCR for a few minutes, perhaps this will clear the condition. Mitsubishi doesn't show your model, but perhaps this one will be close enough: http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/j/i/18326/HSU449.html?cid=42
