KOSS KS2117 Home Theatre no power

My Koss Ks2117 Home Theatre will not power up using the power button on the unit or using the remote. I plug the unit into a different wall unit, but same problem. Unit worked fine yesterday.

Any suggestions?

Koss Model KS2117 - would not power up. Found blown 4amp fuse on power supply board. Replaced fuse and it also blew instantly as soon as I plugged unit into wall outlet. Disconnected the two plugs going to the other two circuit boards from the power supply board to isolate the problem. I replaced the fuse again and it also blew as soon as I plugged the unit into the wall outlet. This means the problem is somewhere on the power supply circuit board. I examined the board and was unable to detect any damaged components (no brown spots caused by overheating or no smell of burnt components). Does anyone know where a replacement power supply board can be obtained???

SOURCE: Universal Remote Issues

I bought a universal remote that lists the code as "190". On a different manual online, I saw "373". Try those and see if it works.

Salutations robn7499,

There are a few things that may cause this to happen. First I would check your connections for your center channel speaker. in movies with 5.1 surround sound almost all the vocal tracks come out of the center channel.

Otherwise there maybe an issue with the volume levels for the center channel as well, these can normally be adjusted through the setup of your home theater system.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: KS3102 Digital Optical Input Problem

What I did was turn on the system, don't put in any dvd in, or select an output 1 or 2. Press Menu on the remote, the display on the system display, not on tv should show Speaker, and other options. Select Input, select the one you want to use as the Optical Sound by press enter, then it will ask you on the system display input or optical sound input. Select optical input and press enter it will then say saved. You can then hit exit til goes back to where the display is back on main screen, or just wait til it exit by itself.

TV Hookup

The TV is NOT a source of high quality sound.

For the best serious audio I would recommend drawing the audio-only digital feed from the Cable Box via its highest quality audio output. Then turn the TV's volume down. Also run the vanilla RCA stereo audio pair from the cable box to the TV in case you just want to check the weather.
