Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

I have been using the Canon Image MF4270 for scanning. It was working fine for the past few months. However, it just started having a problem a few days ago. The original document stops in the paper feeder during the scanning process (i.e. the paper just jams there). MF Toolbox just shows 9% complete and stops there waiting. I have tried to re-install the copier and the programs (including MFToolbox) but the problem still remains the same.

I guess the rubbers that pull the paper are worn out. Replace it.

From your program select File - Print. In the window that opens up there should be a button marked Preferences or Properties. Select that to see the available options for your printer. There should be an option to select Black and White. They may call it monochrome too. Select that and it will print only using black ink.

How to disable ECM and Reduce Baud rate for Canon MF4270 G3 Fax ?

Your approach is correct however it doesn't look like the MF4270 provides for these settings. One might expect to be able to select G3 or ECM or set a lower TX speed.

I located the settings for different Canon Fax machines here:

Try using different software for scanning. e.g. Photoshop Select the right scanner, for Canon you usually see WIA. Then import image and select Canon. New window will pop-out and you can start scanning. Be sure to press the SCAN button of the machine before scanning.

Scans are too light to read

Make sure you have chosen the correct document type in the scan settings. If you did and it still scans lightly then check to see if the scanning LED is normal or dimmer than before, one of the most common causes for the problem you have described.

USB connection not being recognized on Imageclass MF4270 all of a

First make sure that the USB cable is OK and use another if you have one. Then make sure that the laptops have working USB ports from Device Manager. If they are OK then try powering up the Canon again without the USB cable connected to see if any errors are reported and then plug it in to your laptop to see if it is recognised. Check the status of the Canon Print Driver settings. If this all fails then you may have defective USB ports on the Canon and will need to get them repaired.

Canon Pixma MP 470 Not Scannin

I have the printer. You need to scan through your image software on your desktop. The button on the scanner does not function.

With your image software, there should be an "Import from Camera" and "Import from Scanner." Pick the latter, and it will prompt you through the process.

Took quite awhile to figure that out.
