Question about Saeco Caffe Charisma Espresso Machine

3 Answers

No Power Saeco model Charisma just did not have any lights lit up one morning when I went to make coffee. Tried uunplugging from wall and machine. No luck with different outlets so I'm sure it is the machine. Turned on and off, plug and unplug. Stll no luck. Possibly the heating element shorted something out????

Similar problem. I was running the descaling cycle, and towards the end, all power/lights went off. Still, no power one day later. Is there a fuse to check?

I ran the descaling program, and at the end the power went off and did not return to my machine

I have had this problem and fixed it by replacing the Thermal Fuse inside the unit that is inside of a blue tube against the the heating element.

The only thing is the fuse is not a typical fuse with the ability to just remove and replace. The old fuse has to be removed and new one re crimped. Not a difficult chore if your good with tools.

There are schematics showing the location of the fuse and the fuse itself is readily available at an electronic store that sells components like resistors, capacitors, etc. (radio shack, doesnt carry it...if i remember right) You can find online as well. I wish i had the part number and specs of the fuse handy, but do not. You will get the correct numbers once your remove the old one. GL

Me too! SAme problem. The unit was taken apart and when checked with a meter there was power internally but when put back together there still was no sign of action, no lights and it just appears dead.

The flow meter may be clogged in machine. I wrote a solution for the Caffe Charisma Saeco model here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t377912-saeco_caffe_charisma_lights_not_stop
I would find the parts diagrams for you model, open it up and rule out the flow meter. GL...Will

Your grinder is probably due for cleaning. If in warrantee, it may be covered. If not, need to contact SAECO for an authroized
Service Center. Also note that if you use dark roasted beans ( which are oily) + you store beans in refrigerator/freezer, you will definitely have to clean the grinder more often. Contact Saeco USA Inc. to located a Service Center near you at 800-933-7876 (toll-free), ask for customer support, or contact SAECO via e-mail at : outlet@saeco-usa.com

no! the max temp is pre set to about 90oC to 95oC on the p.c. board. any higher temp will cause the the coffee beans/grounds to burn, thus BAD TASTING coffee , according to most experts (barrista)

Saeco Caffe Charisma lights do not stop flashing

I had the this same issue and made a post to this thread, in that post I had this solution to my conditions.

The combination of actions that seem to work was turning the Saeco on while the steam valve was already open and selecting hot water once the Saeco was powered on. The prime light went out, I closed the steam valve
