Re: 42" Fujitsu Plasma TV (About 10 yrs old)
You have not fully identified the model number of your unit, but
this is most likely caused by the Main Power pcb.
For models P42HHxxxxx and P42HCxxxxx see Fujitsu Service Bulletin on this problem. -see link below http://tomtom2k5.free.fr/fujitsu/PDP-0035-06.pdf
A competent service technician should be able to implement the service bulletin.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Up , i also encountered the same problem 3 days ago. 42" Fujitsu Plasmavission. I'll try to call an expert, i hope its not a digital board again for me, it will cost around $2,000usd so better buy a new Korean made LCD for better and cheaper parts. I guess you also experiencing trmendous heat at the back of your plasma right?
A user manual is available from this link:- http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/FUJITSU/PLASMAVISION%20PDS4221-_E
Check for a hidden power switch under the lower left or right under corner of the screen, ensure it is ON (- not sure if this switch is fitted to your model, but it does exist on other Fujitsu models).
Fujitsu no longer support or manufacture plasma screen TVs - therefore no parts are available from them. [Fujitsu only serviced to board replacement level - very expensive].
The Fujitsu models (generally, after 4 or more years use) suffer from cracked solder joints on circuit boards (due thermal cycling stress).
