Question about HP Photosmart 7450 InkJet Printer

HP Photosmart 7450 crashes my computer

This problem has been going on for quite some time now and now it has gotten worse for some reason. My computer crashes several times a day and when the computer automatically reboots, I get a Microsoft Error message. The message : This problem was caused by Hewlett-Packard Printer Driver (HPZid412/HPZius12), which was created by Hewlett-Packard Company.
Hewlett-Packard Company is aware of this problem and working as quickly as possible to make a solution available.

Well looking online, this has been going on with other HP printers, but no new solutions or fixes. I contacted HP, but their solution did not work. All they had me do was uninstall the software and reinstall the software from their website. Then waited on the phone for 2 minutes to see if it crashes and call it fixed since it didn't. However later that day it does. I have done the plug and play method also after uninstalling the printer driver. I haave to uninstall the printer driver everytime I want to take my laptop somewhere. It is frustrating to say the least because of other programs have to be recalibrated to the printer. The Microsoft link is:

No idea what to do to have the printer to work correctly. I have updated all my other drivers and most XP updates except SP3. SP3 just causes more problems with other software I have besides taking away the address bar.

I wash just thinking of reinstalling Windows XP. I just have to look up how to reformat the hard drive. I think it is an option on the Windows OS disk, but will have to look. Right now I have the printer uninstalled and pc hasn't crashed, so when I have a break in December, I will have enough time to do all the necessary uninstalling and reinstalling from start to finish in one day

In run Windows XP. I installed the software for HP Officejet Pro l7500/L7600/L7700 (Starter CD ver 7.0.0) and after seveal failed atter several failed installation attempt (the computer automatically shut down during the installation with no option to stop it from doing so), the computer now freezes a minute or so into boot up when I turn it.

Weirdly, the freeze occurs irrespective of where I am. If I allow the system to run through the startup, it freezes at the Windows XP screen; if hit F2 and go into BIOS, it freezes there; if I go into start at safe mode screen, it freezes there; if i go into the start at last successful configuration screen, it freezes there. Any suggestions?

Your computer crashing several times a day is the bigger issue here. You need to resolve this first. Update your OS software, your disk probably should be wiped, reformatted and reinstalled cleanly. After that, I suspect that your printer problems will go away.
