What type of operative system are you using and what type of burning program you have?

Given that this board was distributed with an AGP 8x interface, supporting Windows XP and processors up to P4 at 3.2 GHz, it is not likely that the motherboard is related to any issues with writing to a CD/DVD drive. It is possible there is some other issue, perhaps with the drive itself, or with the software being utilized to perform the writing functions.
