SOURCE: durabrand hm3817dt alarm

I just bought the system yesterday and the same thing happened to me. I didn't realize the alarm was set and it kep going off at midnight. I think I just solved the problem. While the unit is off, press the standby button then the alarm button and wait for the alarm symbol to go away. This should do it.

I have another problem. Every time I turn the unit on, it comes on at about an 18 sound level waking everybody up. This happens even if the radio has been playing on low before turning it off.

Any solution to this problem would be appreciated.

You probably need to adjust your recording volume on the recorder and not just copy the source as it is...

TASCAM DPO2,CHANNEL 1 WILL NOT RECORD, CHANNEL 2 STILL STILL RECORDS PROPERLY. ANY ADVICE?

Being older I recall these recorders. The problem with them was 8 track tapes never played very well due to the cinnamon roll design, the recorder and players tuck the tape back into the center of the roll when playing them. This poor design causes them to wear out fast and often snag or damage the mechanisms. Not to mention you can often hear adjacent tracks spilling over into the current track you are listening to...

In your case I think the recording head which records track two is out of allignment or contaminated with oxide from the tapes which tends to cake on them. You might try giving it a blast of compressed air if you can find the recording heads, or if unafraid cleaning the head witha q-tip in denatured alcohol or a commercial head cleaning solution for old magnetic tape machines, the solution is basically alcohol and something like freon to make it evaporate if I recall correctly.

If it still doesn't work it is probably because these things are very old regardles of how well they were made in addition to the fact the technology is 40+ years old.

I have a JVC XU-301 BK...When i play MD i get some static disturbance in my audio out put..however when i play Audio CD it workd fine and out put is cleare

I'd suggest you get a MD head cleaner or give the MD head a blast of comporessed air, also check your MDs. If someone gave you a dirty MD the disc can have dust in the case which does exactly what you are talking about.

If you get the MD head cleaner use it sparingly or it will wear the head out (MD cleaners come in sets of two one for the upper head the second for the lower head). You can find them on eBay.

hi there is nothing to do by yourself. you need to take your md player to the next authorized service. seems the optical device that reads the discs has worn out, compareable to turntables you need to change the `needle` ;)

Mds-6 keypad

Some or many units make use of Tactile switches in the control panel of their units.. These become intermittent and noisy after a time. They need to be replaced. You volume issue may be caused by that type of problem in that the one press of a dirty switch might be sending several pulses to the processor signaling many presses. This is what I suspect- it is due to have the switches replaced afer 10 years but the unit will need to come apart and new switches obtained. DigiKey Electronics most likely has new ones of the types you will need. This is a job for a Technician who is able to remove and replace Tact switches in a PCB.

When I burn my mastered tracks to CD, the volume is so quiet it can hardly be heard at all. The sliders are up almost full.

I believe you need to install an BBE Sonic Maximizer to boost your signal recording before your DP-02

How do I clean the rotary track changing switch please? Many thanks. Kenny

One potential solution is to visit an (O'Reiley or equal) auto parts store. They sell a very expensive spray can of "manifold sensor cleaner" (about $20 USD) - it works quite well to clean the car sensor, and you'll have enough left to open your MD case and then spray a blast of cleaner in the SWITCH unit - keep away from the laser! The stuff is very powerful, so you'll need to do it outside with protective garb - BUT, I don't know if it is safe on plastic, so use at your own risk, but it does clean electrical contacts quite well (like scratch volume controls, etc).

When you get done recording, do you wait until the "TOC" light stops flashing? If you cut off power before the Table Of Contents is written, then it can't find all your music. Even if you eject, it should still flash a little red TOC or UPDATE before it spits the disc out. Check for that. okay?

Won't record...says din lock

I'd say you have the digital input selected. The player does not see a digital signal and gives such message.
Select the analog input and you should be able to record.

Hope this helps.
