Question about Toshiba Satellite A135 Notebook
This has been a four-year problem. While under warranty I would send it out, they would say it was fixed. I would play about two DVDs and then the I/O errors would start again. Even the Recovery Disk would not often work.
Now that it is out of warranty AND the Matshita DVD is still not working, is it worth replacing the DVD Rom? And if so, with what system?
It almost makes no sense to put in the same part since from what I am seeing on the other postings, the Matshita DVD Rom drive has a pretty bad track record in the Toshiba laptops. Any ideas?
i'd actually rather recommend trying another external dvd writer. The model/make doesn't matter. take it into a pc repair shop, let them connect an external dvd writer. if it works, and you buy it they won't charge extra, if it doesn't work, well, they can't charge you either
