Xbox 360 My xbox has the Red Ring of Death. How can it get repaired?

Not a simple question.

It depends on the 360 to be honest.

Whatever you do try do not do the "towel trick"
The red ring of death is usually an overheating problem and the towel trick will cause the 360 to overheat.
Look on youtube for "the penny trick/fix"

I'd recommend you send your xbox to a repair center though. In most cases they will repair it for free.

If you get red light around your xbox power button the you have red ring of death. This is when your Xbox has overheated. While im not all that famlier with Xbox I have read there is a 6 cent fix (cause you use 6 pennies) You would have to read up because as I sid before not great with Xbox. I'm sure microsoft would do it to but hey if you good with tools 6 cents sounds pretty cheap.

If you have the red ring of death that is because the GPU and the CPU overheat, you just need to stop the heat and you will be back and running >> Xbox 360 Repair guide

if your out of your twelve month warrant when you bought it you can still ring xbox 360 helpline and tell them your serial code at the back and xbox they will tell you they will fix it for free or not.

it is still under the microsoft 1 year warranty so give them a ring and theyll repair it for free

if 3 of 4 lights are blinking red, you have a red ring of death and need to contact microsoft. this is distubingly common on some of the older 360 models.

Just leave it on for as long as possible.

This is known as the "Red Ring of Death" and is an internal hardware problem with the 360. You will either have to contact Microsoft (for warranty RMA) or a 3rd-party repair service to have the board repaired and fixed. There are several of them out there, it will cost between $50 to $70 to have your 360 fixed. I have been recommending www.xbox360repairs.com as I have used them before when I received the Red Ring of Death on my 360. Fast turn around and great service.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the Hard drive. The red ring of death is a standard misfunction with the Xbox 360. You will have to contact your local game stores to see if they do Red ring of death fixes, send it in to microsoft, or attempt to red ring fix it yourself.
