I had the same problem.... did an automatic update and right after that when i would go onto skype the other person's video would freeze after 20 to 30 seconds. I was running skype 4.2. I completely uninstalled skype and then downloaded version 5.0. problem solved.
Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager. Here locate your webcam, select it and delete it.
Now disconnect the webcam from the laptop.
Insert the Logitech CD and install the drivers afresh.
Connect the webcam and allow Windows to detect it and load its drivers. Windows will take a long time to do this.
Now configure the Instant manager to use this webcam as default camera.
And start using.
But before you do that start the webcam program to use this camera to check if it takes the video continuously. I do not see any problems now.
Trick with Logitech is to load drivers with the device disconnected.
I had already done the things that your expert suggested. This morning I purchased a new web cam but the same problem occurred. I took my computer back to the shop where I had just had a new motherboard, graphics card, processor and RAM put into my computer. They managed to solve the problem as it was the problem with 'frame rates per second' that the graphics card was set at. It was on 60 but should be on 85fps. What he did was Rt Click on desktop, > properties, > settings, > advanced > monitor to change the settings. Now problem is solved.
remove 1 your new ram and see if computer ok check system/control panel/device driver check for any yellow marks on them if so right click/properties drivers and either uninstall them or up grade them I think you have a driver conflict
There are a number of things that can cause the camera to
freeze up the computer or the camera. First I’d check to see how much memory is
installed in the computer.It takes
additional memory to operate the camera.
Hope this helps.Bud
