Have you checked the on-board fuses on the amp?

Have you confirmed, with a multimeter, that you have B+ and remote voltage AND a good ground? If not, do the following.

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle) and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

I have a EL 1500wat amp, when I turn it on the little lite comes on and stays yellow, it was green and was working, fine last night. Any ideas?

Look at fuses first. Then if they are ok. You need to check wiring. Ground. Power remote. If those are good. You need a tech.

My protection mode red light comes on right when i put the fuse in my power line, even when my cars off!!! is it that my ground is bad? ineed some help!! oh ya, lol, its a ela300.1 bazooka amp!

Check your ground most definitly!, Replace it if needed. Check your remote wire and power wire as well. And if none of this works, then you are having internal issues.

Amp wont turn on

have you checked the remote wire is supply power? try jumping the main power wire t the remote wire to see if it turn on. Also check that your ground wire is securely making contact.

Got the hot nd ground conted nd the aux cables from the raido conted nd the amp does not turn on

The amp needs a remote signal to turn on. This is provided by wire from the back of your head unit. Also look for a 'REM' or 'remote' connection on the amp (besides the 12v and ground connection).

Look at the wiring/setup diagram for your head unit to determine which wire/connection you should use for this.

If the head unit does not have a specific 'remote' wire, you can usually use the power antenna wire to provide a turn on signal to the amp instead.

Can anybody help me besides best buy for $80 an hour??

First of all if everything is wired right then your amp is defective. If you have The B+ wire from amp to the fuse block then to the positive battery post, Then if you have a good solid ground going to the amp, and you have 12 volts running to the remote on the amp when you turn the head unit on or a switch for the remote turn on, then you should have no problems. For one, I would test the voltage at the amp with car off and key off. Take the probes of the meter and touch them to the amps ground and positive terminals and check those readings. If ok turn key on and do the same thing, leave head unit off. If ok turn on head unit and test voltage at the positive and remote terminals using the amps ground. If you have any problems before the last test I said to do then thats where you should start to find the problem. Otherwise if the power drops it maybe a bad ground or else you'd start burning up fuses. Let me know what you found out or if you figured it out. I would like to know what it was. I own a car audio/video install business as well as amp repair. Send me a message so I can find out what it was please.

Bazooka amp

If the amp is in protect mode, it probably has shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible problems, do the following. I'll assume that you've checked the amplifier's on-board fuses.

Disconnect all speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp and disconnect signal cables from the amp. If it powers up, the wiring needs to be checked. If it remains in protect mode, the amp almost certainly has shorted output transistors and will need to be repaired.

Amp not turning on

wouldn't be the first JL amp I saw fried...but there are some tests you can do. First of all, double check your fuses, they may appear to be fine, but sometimes they are blown even if you can't see it. Either blindly change them or test them for continuity with a digital multimeter. Also, disconnect the remote turnon and jump power directly over from the power wire to the remote terminal on the amp, if the amp powers on then you have to go double check your remote wire. Hope this helps.

AMP turns ON then turns off

The power antenna wire only supplies 12vdc when the radio is on. When CD or other sources are selected, the power antenna wire goes to 0vdc. The remote turn-on wire provides 12vdc whenever the head-unit is on. If your amps are powered on only when the radio is turned on, I would bet that you have the power antenna wire connected and not the remote turnon wire.
