When power button is engaged, the little green light comes on, flashes, then goes out. TV or VCR will not come on. Help! Tape is in VCR and I can't get it out. Is this worth fixing?-dazman

Quite often the mode switch gets dirty or in worn out,

Hold down the power button on the remote for at least 7 seconds. The parental control has been turned on somehow. In my case, my 20 month old was playing with the remote. I couldn't find this trick in my manual. I found it buried in another website.
