Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I'm trying to install a new graphics card Verto Geforce 9600 GT. When i run the CD i get a setup error saying The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. I've downloaded the latest drivers from the nvidia site for the 9 series and installed them. My display driver keeps reverting to a geforce 6100 which i think is the intigrated graphics card on my computer

Disable the existing video card in device manager and try again. The onboard video will always try to take first spot, so disable it ...your video will still work until you can install the new video card :)

Hope this helps :)

Have you installed the proper monitor drivers as your main display? Also at Nvidia they have a large selection of new drivers for this. From what I have read, it only seems to happen with Windows 7. What operating system are you running, and also what Monitor do you have?

Geforce 8500 won't show on computer and fan is working but no show how to fix

you may have to dis able the Onboard  graphics system and may need to check some things

sounds like yo had the same Problems that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the monitor cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is running with your card you can also see that from the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped install the driver first then disable download latest drivers here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us

I lost the cd for my graphic card and cannot for life of me find on internet, here is card type : pny geforce fx 5500 ddr 128 mg agp.. anyone have a free driver ?

I don't, but Nvidia does at http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
you have a geforce 5 fx.select your os and language. this will give you the unified driver that works on all Nvidia chipsets. be advised the card you bought was private labled to PNY so the automated driver search will probably just tell you you don't have any Nvidia cards installed.

I'm having a problem with my new graphics card

camocrazy:
-Make sure that the video card is properly seated. and you have installed all the latest drivers and patches of this card from?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_163.75.html
try to play games now and if the problem still exist then do:

-At this stage I would recommend just to blame the card's software (drivers) uninstall all drivers and software partinent to this video card. Restart the machine and play the game for a while, see if your monitor crashes. If still does crashes then its the OS.

-Simply uninstall the graphics card from the PC and check if the perfomance of games effect your video. If it still does effect then there is a problem with OS.

Finally I would suggest to simply install the card install the latest patches and drivers from the website of the manufacturer and restart your machine if it works then we can blame faulty driver and software.
-Also please check the manufacturers website of any known issues with this particular card with Vista.

Hope that helped!
