Question about Vtech V.Smile TV Learning System
I am trying to set up the Vtech for my grandson. I have the batteries installed. The Vtech is plugged in as well with an adaptor. The on-off button goes on and the games advance in the non TVmode. All we can get in TV mode is the intro screen - has sound an picture but won't advance as we press the buttons on the controller. THanks for any help you can provider
Try plugging the joystick into the opposite port - if it is on the Player 2 port, plug it into Player 1, etc. If it works in one port, but not theother, then one of the ports is bad/damaged. If it doesn't work in either port, it is the joystick itself. Replacement joysticks can be ordered from VTech, Amazon, Target or Walmart.
Other troubleshooting methods:
1) Press the Reset – Press and hold the ON button for about 10 seconds
2) Make sure the game is inserted far enough into the system, and that it is pointing in the right direction. You may occasionally need to clean the contacts.
3) Also, make sure you are using the supplied power cord/adapter, not batteries. Batteries cause more problems than they’re worth.
