Recording problems Hi, I have a SDony CCD-TRV108 and I am trying to transfer what I have recorded on my camera unto a VCR tape or onto computer to make DVD. I haven't done it in so long that I can't remember how to do it. Puzzled mom

A lot depends on what type of video tape you use and where do you want to play the DVDs (CDs are for audio recording only). If tape is compact VHS then you can buy a simple DVD Recorder VHS VCR combo player and transfer across easily provided you have the compact VHS cassette module.

For other type of video camera tapes you will have to try other methods like connect camera with tape to a DVD recorder and directly burn the DVDs. You can buy attachments and software for PC but I have found these very cumbersome to work with.

your sony ccd-trv 108 will transfer videos(stream) to a computer using firewire connection. install the supplied software or use any program compatible for streaming like windows movie maker. use a firewire cable. check your computer for a firewire port(port with IEEE symbol) make sure that the tape is totally rewounded then press the record button on windows movie maker as the same time as you play the video from the camcorder. (its basically playing the entire video in order for windows movie maker to record it.

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Hi there. You need to transfer your videos to your computer and then burn them to DVD using a program like Record Now, or Nero. Sony CCD-TRV108 is analog camcorder and you can't connect it directly with computer because computer requires digital format audio-video signal files to store and further process.
If you have DVD Recorder, hook up camera with it and burn movie on dvd disc. Now you have digital data / files for computer.
Need further info, let me know please.

1st setup ur VCD with TV and playback it to view on TV. If picture is coming, thats OK.
2nd plug ur camcorder in VCR input and select VCR input according to plug in and monitor the camcorder picture on TV through VCR. If its ok, now u r ready to record the picture from camcorder to VCR.

tape path is out of alignement

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times. good luck

I have a Sony handy cam ccd-trv108 Hi-8 and I can not get it to play or record, everytime I insert the tape and hit play the display screen flashes c:31.22 Please help me?
