The dishwasher still has water in it.  Lean dishwasher back at least 45 degrees and water should drain out through overflow pipe.  It could be caused by the dishwasher not being level.  Otherwise from reading reviews online it seems to be a common fault with this dishwasher and lots of people have returned and purchased different.

My dishwasher says E4

Hi,

The error code E4 means selector switch pads is stuck.
First try a hard reset. Unplug the unit for 10 minutes and then switch on the dishwasher. Most cases you won't get the error message.
If you still get the error message then you need to take to service center to get it repaired. Mostly, the inner connectivity between the pad and circuit board is loose/bad.

Hope this helps.

Shane

Error code E4 is on our display of our KDW243A dishwasher - what does this mean please?

Error code E4 means there is an overflow. Water is probably trapped. If you get error code E4, just tilt the machine back about 45 degrees and let the water drain out. It should come out on both sides. Then, you should be good to go.

My Kenwood dishwasher keeps displaying error message E4 but there is no mention of this in the user manual. Can you explain what this means

Hello,

Some models of Frigidaire washers come with a digital readout display that informs the operator of the unit's function and any errors.

Error codes indicate that a problem has occurred and should be addressed. Different models of Frigidaire washers may vary in their fault displays.

Some washer models use flashing lights at the unit's start, door lock, wash, rinse, final spin and control indicators to display error codes.

Hope this help?

Thanks.

My Kenwood KDW243A built in dishwasher is desplaying what I assume is an error code, E3. What does this mean? The washer is not washing properly.

E3 means the base is full of water. A quick fix is to tilt the machine back for 10 mins or so but you need to find the cause of the leak and repair it

E3 showing on Kenwood model KDW243A

E3 means longer heating time. Usually this indicates the heater element has failed.

Error code e4 on kenwood kdw243a any ideas????

Error code E4......I have the definitive answer.
All the recommendations to tilt the machine are totally wrong!!!!! It may work in the short term but is a bodge-fix and covers up the "real" problem - you have a water leak- its as plain as that.
There is nothing wrong with the Kenwood and it has a 'Flood Sensor' that is filling with your leaked water.
I too was suckered into this quick fix but it didnt work for me; then I spoke to a neighbour who is also a dishwaher repair man.
We removed the machine , removed both side-panels (yes its easy for a DIY), dried out the water from the bottom pan (the sensor sits in a small recess right in the middle of the bottom pan). The machine was switched on and we checked for a leak; now there are many pipes and you need to observe just where the leak is. In my case the water was pouring from a broken pipe, but worse still it was leaking right onto the mains electricity !!!!!!!
So DONT mess with bodge fixes - they may kill you!!!
