Probably only recognizes WEP. I know this is a problem with Palms unless you get a WPA driver. PDAs have limited protection features just like T-Mobiles Wi Fi phones have. If you are using smaller electronic devices on your network you are better off setting the wireless security protection on your router to WEP, 64 bit, personal. That should work on your MDA.

While wireless Internet technology allows us greater mobility in the home and around town, you may also encounter issues with getting a good signal. This common problem has a variety of origins and also depends on your connection method.

Terminology
"Wireless Internet" can refer to two different things: a person using a laptop modem card to communicate over a cell phone network, or an environment where the computers are connecting wirelessly to a nearby high-speed modem. b> Laptop Broadband Networking The user with the laptop modem card can resolve the issue the same way a cell phone user does, since they are connecting to a cell phone network: Find a location where you can get stronger signal strength. b> Mobilizing for Signal Strength b> Terrain can block the laptop user from "seeing" a nearby cell tower, and buildings in an urban environment, like at a coffee shop or at an airport, can cause the same problem. In both cases, seeking higher ground or more a more open area can improve your signal. b> Home Wireless b> In the home, Wi-Fi access is at its strongest when there is not a wall or floor between you and your modem. Sometimes a microwave or cordless phone will also interfere with the signal. b> Drivers and Viruses b> Updating your drivers packages of software that your computer uses to recognize its hardware can solve performance glitches. You can also use an anti-virus program to scan for malicious programs that could be interfering.

Bought a compaq 6710b. The wireless connection stability is very poor. I can find my wireless network at home on Vista platform, but the connection drops out after several seconds and is not able to find...

Hi there
if you are seeing the network and are able to connect to it but it is getting dropped normally this wouyld lead to the signal not being that strong you can try to move the computer it doesnt take tot much to change the signal strength and see if the signal get' s better it should tell you how your signal is ok

Unable to find wireless network

Maybe it's not a hardware issue. Have you tried re-installing your wireless lan drivers? Give that a go. cheers.

Hello LyMaBa

Do you have an SD card inserted in the PDA?

If so remove it and restart your PDA.

Did the problem go away. If so, please, go HERE for the Zire 71 Expansion update or HERE for the SD/SDIO update.

You can find all the manuals for the Palm Zire 71 PDA HERE.

If you don't have a SD card inserted, you might want to try performing a WARM RESET of your PDA. Youtube has a video on this process HERE.

You can find instructions HERE for performing a reset ("warm" or "hard") on your Palm PDA.

You can find other software, info, downloads, etc.
HERE for your Zire 71.

If performing a "warm" reset doesn't work, try performing a "hard" reset.

*** WARNING!!! ***
YOU WILL loose ALL of your data on the PDA by performing a "hard" reset so make sure it's data has been synchronized w/ your computer software (Palm Desktop, Microsoft Outlook, etc).

Wi-fi PDA connectivity problem

First, restart your pda by using your stylus and pressing the pin-hole sized button on the back of the PDA. There are sometimes a couple of different reasons why the pda wont recognize the network. Main Reason: Make sure you are at the home screen... Tap the wifi icon on the lower right corner of the pda. T hen make sure that the WLAN power is turned ON. Press the setting button. If you see your network in the list, tap on it. It should bring up a network configuration window. Make sure it says it connect to "The Internet". Then tap on the "Network Key" tab at the bottom of window. If you have no security settings on your belkin router, make sure Authentication is set to Open and Data Encryption is set to "Disabled". Then press "OK". That should Be it!!!! Let me know if this way doesnt work, or if something doesnt make sence!

You will not believe me but I have a similar problem. I have also Belkin router at home and wireless connection with my e800 works perfect. A few days ago I have tried to connect my PDA to wireless router of my best friend. His wireless network is protected like mine and after configuration of all settings I had no success. The funny thing is that PDA show me the status CONNECTED but I can not use the internet explorer. Like I said, at home with my Belkin it works properly. I can really not explain what the problem is.

E750 use with Garmin 76 GPS

If no one has any solution for your issue in my opinion you should check the manufacturer’s site. Maybe there you can find out if this unit is compatible with your PDA. Usually you can find it under support or FAQs.
