Reset worked a couple of times but it would always froze soon or later. I format (delete all files) my ZEN as Tha Mp3 Doctor commented. Then it workd for a while but freezing occured again and again. But now I know how to deal with my ZEN. If reset does not work, format it.

Step by step instructions for formatting a player
    1. Detach the player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
    2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on the player.
    3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button
    4. Select Format (All) and select Yes to format the player.
    5. After the player has finished formatting, select Reboot.
    6. Re-transfer the tracks to the player.

Sooner or later, this product freezes up. mine won't even let you do that format/reboot thing. my solution- go back to the shop and hassle them until you get a refund.

i had this problem when I got my zen. when i took it back, they told me they would repair it. they couldn't repair it. they gave me a new one. brand spanking new. it froze up. Im taking it back to the shop this week and i will demand my money back.this cycle is just plain silly. i suggest you do the same.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.

On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.

Zen frozen

Go to recovery mode, and do a disk clean up. If that doesnt work, then you might have to format it.

Did you reset it properly? To reset your zen, put a pen head in the hole under the power button for 20 seconds
