What is the pump P/N # for the Maytag PAV2200?

My Maytag washer is making a terrible noise during the all cycles. Was told that the discharge pump could be out? Anyone know what this part number is?

Nope the pump is out just like mine. There is a metal washer that surrounds the pully that is the grinding noise.

Hi john_christy

i dont think that you need a new pump, chances are there is some thing in it. The most common thing i see in those pumps is bobby pins. if you take both hoses off the pump you should be able to see if there is anything in it..

It appears Maytag no longer produces the type of quality product we have purchased since 1970... we've owned three Maytag Washers - our last "performa" is a piece of ****!

Spinning fast and furious, just doesn't wring clothes dry

It sounds like you need a water pump!
See if it's pumping water next time you do load by looking at the discharge hose going to the drainage pipe and get back to me!

Grinding during the wash cycle

I was told that it was the transmission - good luck with that....

Labor alone was $175 - I ended up trashing mine (3 1/2 years old) and buying a new one.

Just got off the phone with Maytag - by all means, try to get them to pay for stuff before you throw away the one that you have....Now that they know it's gone, I supposedly don't even have the right serial number...(it was hauled away 4 days ago by Lowe's)

Maytag Performa - Loud Noises during Spin Cycle

This washer is JUNK!!!!!! We have the same washer (2 1/2 years old) and same problem. Tried to replace the bearing myself, no luck. So I called a repair man to come out and look at it. As soon as i told him the model number, they would'nt even come out. Very common problem for this washer. We are on our way to Sears to purchase a Kenmore.....GOOD LUCK

Washer makes loud scraping sound

Could very well be the pump as well. These pumps have been notoriously bad for the pully shaft housing slipping down and hitting the pump pully. More that likely your problem.
