Question about Canon PowerShot SD790 IS/ IXUS 90 IS Digital Camera

5 Answers

Canon Power Shot S1 IS screen is black. That happens frequently, not all the times. I cannot make photos anymore. All other functions are o.k.

I like to describe the problem a bit more specific:
    - suddenly when I try to make a photo I see only blue and white horizontal stripes.
    - when I make a photo then there is nearly all
    black & blue with stripes.
    - after a few hours, with some luck: the camera is ok. again.
    - And then it starts the problem again.
    regards
    Wilfr

Gently tap on the side ways of your camera if you are able to get back the screen then it indicates loose connection in the camera .

Have you ever dropped your camera ?

There is also chance that your CCD might have been damaged .If your camera is under warranty the company will repair you free of cost . If it is not under warranty it will cost around $100 -$150 to repair it .

Hello, You should contact Canon about the situation. Let them know you are aware of the problem CCD sensor on the S1 camera. Actually S1 is repaired free of charge because of the CCD problem. You should suggest that your camera probably has the same defect as the S1. See what they say. If you need more info please advice. Arpi
