If you have Vista, insert the cd and boot the laptop. Make sure to hit any key when advised to by the screen. You will see....."boot from cd, hit any key" Once the cd runs it will load windows, when that is done it will offer several options. Choose start up repair first and let the computer run. Windows will attempt to repair the boot up for your windows installation.
That message appears when Windows cannot boot. You may run a repair using your Windows CD. Just start your PC with the CD in the drive and follow the choices in the screen.Remember select REPAIR, not Install, as you will end loosing all your files.
This means it cannot find the Windows OS files because either:- The hard disk has failed or it needs reseating. or the hard disk controller has failed. or the Windows files have been deleted or corrupted (maybe by virus)
Try reseating the hard drive. If the hard disk is faulty, you need a new one. Try using your recovery CD disk. Try re-installing Windows
You'll need to setup the Acer laptop to boot from CD-ROM. Push either the F2 or F10 button when booting your laptop and it should bring-up the configuration management interface. Go through the options and confirm that Boot From CD-ROM is at the top of the list on bootable devices.
Next, you'll need your original Windows XP CD that came with the Laptop. Put it in the CD-ROM Drive and reboot your laptop. You will be given two options: 1) Re-install Windows or 2) Repair the existing Windows Installation. I recommend that you repair the existing Windows Installation as this will not destroy and data or device drivers that are install on the laptop.
You need to re-install The Drivers ( software to make the Device Work ) I,d suggest visiting Acers Driver Site. typing in the model number of your laptop. and searching for a Suitable Driver for CD/DVD Rom.
Operating system depending, you can right click on the device and try un-installing it. reboot the computer. and you should get a message new devive found. and give you the option to re-install the driver for it.
Unfortunately we cannot post links for you to Obtain these Drivers, But i,d look at global.Acer.com Support and Download.
Checked if your orbicam is in device manager (under imaging device),
if it still there, you might have wrong orbicam application installed. try to download the orbicam application, there are 3 type of orbicam for Aspire 5050 (suyin, bison and logitech). try to installed one by one.
or if you can try to reload the whole windows, using alt+f10 during boot.
