The most likely problem is that the software that the camera uses is limited as to the number of simultaneous users. You could upgrade to a simple Pelco or Dedicated Micros server, and then the number of users can be in the hundreds, I believe. Let me know through a post if this is not the problem.

Geovision GV600 card, moved to new computer, software can't read registry

I would try uninstalling any bloat ware that came with the PC. Then use C Cleaner to clean registry. Remove or turn off any antivirus. I prefer to remove before installing the software. You may also simply want to reinstall a clean copy of plain W7 so that you don't leave any bloatware lingering. Also try combofix to clean the computer.

Dish changing channel to new recording while watching *pre-recorded* program

rjvdw,

Try unplugging the receiver for 10 seconds then plugging it back in, and see if the problem is resolved. The receiver should only switch if you are watching live TV instead of a recording.

If the problem persists, and you are for sure not on Live TV, the receiver may need to be replaced. If it continues you can send me an email at thomas.faust@dishnetwork.com, and I can assist you further!

I get a beep every 30 seconds no matter which new batteries I try to install. Does "alarm malfunction" mean the unit is shot?

If the display shows "Err", push and hold the Peak Level button. Does the display change to "E09"? If so, then you have just been "had" by the grossly under-documented "planned obsolescence feature" called, rather matter-of-factly, "End of Life". This means that ~7 years after first being powered up, the unit will, BY DESIGN, cease to function, forcing you to buy a replacement. Would have been nice of Kidde to include THAT warning on the OUTSIDE of the package. Call their "Hotline" at 1-800-880-6788 and tell them what you think of that policy. If it is still under warranty (5 or 7 years depending on date of manufacture) they should replace it. In any event, buy another one; if they replace your first one you will have twice the protection. Not a bad thing. *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle.Words to live by: "Every creative act results from a sudden cessation of stupidity." -Edwin H. I have a Kidde combo CO / Gas monitor. The last two mornings at almost the same time (7:00 AM) the alarm sounded with the word GAS displayed. The condition went away in about 30 seconds each time and the...

Besides the obvious jokes about gas in the bathroom, I would advise you move it out of the bath room. It is being affected by excessive moisture causing errors in the sensors. The same can happen for smoke alarms with condensation or other moisture sources. It should be located relatively close to a possible source of problem, but not right on top of it.

Is the shower in use at around 7 am every AM?

I cannot get the camera to pair since i downloaded windows 7

Sorry but most PC based surveillance systems are NOT compatible with windows 7.. If you are trying to connect to the surveillance system via a network or USB connection, check for a driver update on the system manufacturers website although as windows 7 is new, I doubt if an update is yet available. This is why I am still using XP as Vista and windows 7 still have driver and other issues that have yet to be addressed by Microsoft. If you can, roll back your system to your previous version or try re-installing your software. Sorry man but that is microsoft !!
