On the print page, it has 'idle' in the status line. I have been printing photos but when I tried to print from Word 2007, and I've had this printer for awhile, for some reason it will go through the printing motion and dispense the paper but no lettering appear. More than likely doris you have an issue with the black text not printing. Press copy and photo at the same time. Look at the eyes of the kids in the picture. They're probably all white. Clean the printhead from the main menu. A deep clean. Print another demo. If it comes out the same, you need a new printhead. Call Kodak.

Try this one, Turn on the printer, Take out the inks, remove the printhead, put back the printhead make sure it will snap and you hear a click, put the inks back, wait for the printer to initialize, Press the Menu button, look for Calibrate printer, then print calibration page, then scan it after. Load a regular paper. Then try to print a demo page by pressing Photo and Copy at the same for 5 seconds then let it go. If same problem persist call this no for further assistance 1800 421 6699

Try to press the photo and copy at the same time it will print a diagnostic page
look how is the quality of the text.
if it prints very light or if it doesnt print open the access door and try to remove the ink cartridges and put it back again and make sure you hear a click sound after you put the cartridges back in and close the printer access door
try to print again a demo page press photo and copy and check if there is improvement
if no improvement open the kodak aio home center software click on the question mark(?) on the upper right corner and click on maintenance..then select printhead cleaning.After the printhead cleaning print again demo page (press photo and copy at the same time) if still no improvement on the quality of the text call the kodak hotline 1 800 421 6699..you might need a printhead replacement..
go to start>>program>>printer and Faxes.
right click on the printer, select porperties.
select printing Preferences, Orientation is portrait, Page Order is Front to back.
click on advance. maek sure all underlined feature are enabled.
check the box labelled as "Enable advanced printing features" click OK
click on Print test page.
