I have a Maytag SE-1000 stacking washer dryer setup. I am trying to replace a broken dryer belt, and have the disassembly done, and the replacement belt in place. My problem is trying to understand how the...

Most dryers are tension idler pulley directed but must first go around the grooved pulley on the motor shaft. make sure the idler goes on the smooth side of the belt and the grooved side of the belt is in the grooves on the motor shaft.

Matag dryer not heating

Here is a link to maytag dryer repairs . The most common problem is the thermal fuse. My question is. Does the heating element start to light. If not...... and you have changed the ignitor and thermal fuse. Then check the flame sensor to see if there is continuity threw it. Power to the gas coils and ignitor runs threw the flame sensor. CLICK HERE to see a flame sensor on a GE dryer. They are the same on most units but Maytag will be on the opposite side of burner chamber.

Dryer was running and sparks flew out the back

probably the heating element had a hot spot in the coil of the element and it either sagged from heat and touched the case of the dryer and arced which threw sparks or it just separated with the same results

Dryer is running - but no heat. Thanks, Alex

Hi, read about your problem. You are going to need a heating element part number 340590 and a cycling thermo part number 8318268. You will have to take the front off of the dryer. BE SURE TO UNPLUG. You'll see the element and the thermostat is on the blower housing. Hope this helps.

No heat in my stack-pak kenmore dryer. The element is ok and there are no broken cables/wires. 220 does come in to the unit and show up at the componets.

There is a thermal relay switch that is blown. Replace it.
Model number please and I will give you the part number.

Maytag haevy duty stack washer dryer unit model # SE1000 series 06

I hope you got this fixed by now but if not I'll put in my 2 cents.. I assume that your dryer is electric and not gas. Assuming that is true then you probably have an open heater element.. similar to this used in electric stoves... There may also be other components that could have failed and in so doing, disabled power to that element. Could be a contactor or temp switch/thermistor.. Hope this helps and that you've already solved the problem...

Replacing heating element

Hi NoNicky. I do not own a Maytag, but did find information about it on a couple of sites I've used before for my Kenmore. I'll include an image that should be for your model (they list MDE7500AYQ and MDE7500AYW). There are also details on the steps needed to gain access to the dryer and a diagram of the heating subsystem. Kenneth P.
