Question about Clarion Car Audio & Video

2 Answers

Clarion radio from 2002 Saab 9-3 Viggen. Radio works fine on AM,FM,and CD, but the Weather Band does not switch the display nor receive WB broadcasts. (Radio has Onstar module, but that service is dying, is of no interest.) Radio has Saab part number 5043278. It's our road car, and weather is important to us. Any suggestions?

Actually I'm a communications engineer with 50 years designing com equipment. What I should have said is that I need info on where to get a service manual for that radio so I know where to look for modules when I open it up.

It i.s apparent that either the button to ingage the wb is not making contact with the module inside or there is a fault on the main board inside the deck. now depending on how old the deck is I would most likely suggest you either have it repaired at an car audio shop or just replace it with a similar unit.. please rate this...thanks

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My volume on the xm radio band is noticeably lower than the regular fm band. Is there anyway to adjust the volume on the xm band tto make iy louder?

XM radio usually has lower volume than regular FM/AM bands. But there 'might' be an adjustment you can do with your radio, depending on your unit. Please indicate the brand and model of your radio so I can check.

I have a clarion m 309 radio and I'm trying to hook up a fusion FM 402 amp for a sub woofer. I had all speakers playing but, I could not control the volume of the sub with the radio. I need to know...

Amps usually receive their signal through RCA wires. Your radio should have one pair of RCA outputs on the back. (red and white) You will adjust your subwoofer volume by adjusting the gains on the amplifer (little knob next to the RCA inputs of the amp), then you can turn up the bass on your radio.

I have a 1996 saab 900. it wont accept the radio code (it is the correct 1) what do i do after putting the code in? it just goes back to 4lines when i put the code in. thank you

This looks as though your radio is not accepting your code.

Are you certain this is the correct working code for your radio? (and not just a code that is written in the car documents)

Have you used this code before?

The majority of Saab radios are made by Clarion and the code entry is just pressing the appropriate buttons on the front.

After the final button is pressed then your radio should work.

Trying to get the radio code for 1997 Saab 900 Radio SN: AX2PU9716A PU 9716A Please assist me.

Your radio is made by CLARION and the only CLARION codeavailable for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is ifyour radio also has a BARCODE SERIALNUMBER beginning with C 7000000 + + ++ on a label somewhere on the metalcasing. If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service oryour local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode thememory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio

I have a 1999 Cadillac DeVille Concours with an AM/FM/Cassette/CD/RDS Radio. The AM works fine, the FM does not, screen shows digital info(stations like 99.3, etc) but no sound. RDS does not function at...

Hi there,

Well there's lots of possible reasons. The FM receiver portion of the radio is separate from the AM Band receiver, pre-amp, and amplifier sections of the radio. The FM receiver may have simply failed, as well as the CD player portion of the radio. Your car FM needs repair, you need a multimeter to check it or take it to a repair person. Please post further comments for further help or information......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

2002 monte carlo ss am/fm radio w/cd...all of a sudden (after having car detailed) only one or two fm stations come in...and are somewhat static'y...no longer can receive am stations...cd plays fine...all...

I would suggest that the antenna is bad. If the detailer sent the car threw a car wash or just by coincidence the connection may have failed at the base of the antenna. Cheapest troubleshooting solution is buy a replacement antenna for the car and just connect it to the radio without installing it. If the reception dosen't get any better then replace the radio and return the antenna. To recieve AM you must ground the outside body/base of the antenna (not the whip part) to a bare metal part of the car (door jamb etc.). Most car antennas have a TINY center conductor somewhat like copper leaf in the antenna cable that increases the possibility of failure.
