HI .thanks for the question. I think your problem is with the thermostat. It gets cold shuts off , and does not come back on . I would replace the thermostat. thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer.

My GE does not freeze nor does the refrigerator work all my food defrosts and goes bad. I unplugg it and plug it back then it starts freezing again. But after maybe two days it stops working again.

may have a faulty thermister device. This could be telling the freezer to go into defrost mode or it might be the timing circuit for the defrost cycle.
Worth getting it checked out by a licensed fridge repair person.

3) Press the "Express Freezing" key as well as the "Colder" key of the Freezer Temp function together while in Test Mode 2 and hold for 3 seconds. The refrigerator will go into Test Mode 3. Kenmore refrigerator won't cool

Its defrost problem, the freezer should cool, then freeze, then defrost cycle should start. In your case freezer is cooling, then freezing, but its not defrosting. That's why fridge section is not cooling.-------

Yes, it is most likely the defrost timer, the timer isn't running anymore, the evaporator coil freezes up and your problems begin. Hope this helps

Samsung RB2055Sl Top refrigerator couling coil freezing up every 2 or 3 weeks

The problem is freeze up. Bad door gasket or too much window shopping are the biggest issues. Could be low gas. Either take off the back freezer panel and defrost or unplug for 2 days to defrost fully. Oh, and clean the condenser coil. Then, let's see what the unit does.

Amana ABB1927DE lower drawers freeze and lock potential

Cold air settles to the bottom of the fridge. Things that can freeze easy may if the door is closed for long periods of time. This is a normal condition for any refrigerator. Look to see if there is a vent that goes to that drawer and close it all the way. That may make a difference.
