Kenmore refridgerator model #50522100

Unit was bought in 2002, was used for one year, unplugged moved and we just set it up and plugged it in 09/2008. It ran at first and then stopped running. Lights work but unit just turned off for about 15 minutes adn then suddenly began working again. Is there a reset switch or button we should look for or could there be another problem? Please Help!!

Is it still working..If so it probable doesn't have a problem. My guess is that it went into the defrost cycle. When you unpluged it in 2003 it was time for the defrost cycle, so when you pluged it in it went into the cycle..

Used Kenmore freezer won't get cold enough

If it is running but not cooling enough the problem is in the sealed system.

If you started it up just after hauling it home it may have be moved around enough to get oil in the systems smaller tubing causing problems. Unplug the unit for 24 hours and let it sit. Try it again for 24 hours and see if it cools.

If not this means either there is a refrigerant (freon) leak in the system or a restriction causing the refrigerant to not flow properly.

Either one are an expensive repair. and will require a professional to look at.

2 year old Kenmore side by side refrigerator is too warm

the freezer feeds the refridgerator with cold air, when you open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing,if not you need to change the evap fan motor, next take out the second from bottom food bin and touch back wall,if you feel snow or ice you have a defrost problem, you'll have to take off back wall, advance the timer till it clicks into defrost and see if the heater comes on,if so you have a bad timer,if not read out the t-stat and the heater,if there are plug in wires on t-stat unplug them and bypass the t-stat by plugging t-stat wire to heater if heater comes on change t-stat,leave the heater on to help you defrost the ice off of evap coil and use hair dryer to melt ice, hope that helps

Freezer drain is plugged. How do I unplug it?

shut off unit. find drain hole. pour HOT(boiling hot) water about a cup. wait so it will melt the ice. now either use a air from air compressor, or a portable steamer to run air thru the hole, also can use a long flex bar(like cloths hanger) or a flex pvc hose.
U also have to make sure your condensor coil is clean. dust at bottom of the fridge usuallu cloggs the drain as it normally drains to the boottom tray located beneath the fridge.

Kenmore side by side not cooling

First off how far did it get leaned when moved and second it might just need to be cleaned.
If you laid it down when it was moved it should have been left unplugged for 12 hrs before plugging in because the refridgerant used is also a lubricant and it needs time to settle.
As far as cleaning it you will need to take off the back panel and use a vac to clean out the dust. There is also a kickplate on the front that needs to come off and clean the cooling grates that are under there. If you have a dryer brush it works great for cleaning the grates. You can get between them with it.
Unplug it before you do any of this.

I purchased a used GE Profile side by side refridgerator; it was used for model homes... Well I got it home and the lights are on but it doesnt seem to be working??? The buttons seem to be non...

if the unit was working before......unplug the unit, place it where it will be used, let it stand with no power for 24 hours.......then plug the unit in and check its operation after 24 hours....I know, sounds nuts, but this has saved many from buying a new unit......not all refrigerators like to be moved.

It sounds like your defrost cycle has stopped working. unplug your fridge for 24 hours and let it defrost. plug it back after 24 hour and if it starts to cool in the fridge part at about 40 degrees F. you will have to replace one of three parts the Defrost Timer, Defrost Themo or Defrost Element. I hope this helps you.
